Martin Van Buren was the eighth President of the United States, serving from 1837 to 1841. Notably, he was the first president to have been born after the American Revolution.

A marble bust of Van Buren occasionally appears in Homestar Runner, presumably owned by The Cheat. Its use is typically apolitical — used as a bludgeoning object, to add decorative flair, or simply as an interesting shape.
