"Meep meep meep meep meep!"

Within the Homestar Runner body of work, there have been many references to the puppet characters created by Jim Henson, known as The Muppets. Furthermore, many of the puppets that appear in the Puppet Stuff seem to be modelled on Jim Henson's distinctive style, especially the puppet version of Homestar.

Appearances

  • Teen Girl Squad 7The Brothers Chaps have said that the issue is a direct homage to Muppet Babies.
  • Halloween Potion-Ma-JigMarzipan dresses up as Beaker. When she imitates his voice, The Cheat appears to understand her.
  • Email highschool — The scene that takes place in "middle school" references Muppet Babies; several characters appear as "melon-headed babies with gigantic eyes and enormous imaginations." Homestar himself takes the role of Nanny, wearing red and white striped bloomers (instead of green and white striped stockings).
  • Homestar Ruiner— At a party, Strong Bad speaks to Coach Z in faux Swedish, ending with the Swedish Chef's famous catchphrase, "Bork bork bork."
