Ah; now I've gone back and read it more carefully. The important line is

{The page turns to show Strong Bad handing Bubs the rent check.} STRONG BAD: {voiceover} At last, we reached an agreement to peacefully co-exist in this land, after I gave him my first and last months' rent deposit.

I think that pretty clearly says Strong Bad rents from Bubs. So really Bubs owns it. Strong Bad's clearly feels like it's his, since he introduces it as his kingdom in flag day, and Bubs never seems to show any interest in it, but unless Bubs gave it to him at some point we don't know about, Strong Bad's still a tenant. —AbdiViklas 20:18, 16 October 2005 (UTC)

I'm pretty sure I've heard this joke before... the approximate wording was "and then the Indians taught us how to grow corn by planting it with fish" "or maybe they were just trying to grow fishcorn!" so.. either a coincidence, or that comic or TBC are joke thieves! :O

I found it in a Dilbert TV series (1999-2000) cartoon:

Dilbert: I've come up with the greatest improvement in food production since Squanto.

Dogbert: Squanto?

Dilbert: He showed that if you put a fish with your corn seeds, it fertilizes the soil.

Dogbert: How do you know he wasn't trying to grow a fish-tree? Maybe he was too lazy to dig his own hole.

I made the indented entry regarding Strong Bad's singing mistake in "O Shanama." I was thinking about putting it as a Goof, but I wanted to have it together with the Real-World Reference (O Canada). What do you guys think? Terlet Brush 03:15, 12 January 2006 (UTC)

The cheering mentioned in the Remarks section is actually found in many other cartoons. One example is mascot. There are many more. Does this qualify as an inside joke or something?

I recently found out the correct pronunciation for Houghton Mifflin, which was something I'd always wondered about. Should we add it as a sub-fact in the real-world references? It's pronounced hoe-ton mif-lin. I might even be able to upload a sound sample of it; I heard the correct pronunciation on an accompanying CD for a phonetics course (so I'm sure they'd have the correct pronunciation).

First of all, I do love ketchup on eggs. Second of all, I first got the idea when I was little because there was a children's book about (I believe) the American Revolution. In said book, a colonist wanted the freedom to have his eggs with ketchup. Eggs are not a fruit!

Which would be really funny, because Homestar's eyes do look black in the very picture you uploaded. Well, not RGB #000000 black, but at least a significantly darker gray than everything else in the picture. --Jay (Gobble) 20:27, 16 April 2011 (UTC)
