"That's just our worst friend Sickly Sam"

Sickly Sam is the 1936 version of Strong Sad. He is a skeleton wearing a Potate sack. When he's denied what he needs (which is often), he turns into a cloud of dust. Like his modern counterpart, none of the other characters seem to like him. According to him in That A Ghost, he "buries [himself] alive on Tuesdays".

Another 1936 version of Strong Sad, which looks much more similar to the modern Strong Sad, appears being blasted out of a circus tent on Main Page 10. However, since this predates Parsnips-A-Plenty, it is clear that that design was scrapped in favor of Sickly Sam.
