Buncha userpage comments
Hi Yoshi minus nothing, I like your userpage. But when you're talking about the "...navigation bar (thing you type in to get to a website)", I think you mean the URL. The navigation bar is generally understood to be the list of "main, toons, games, characters" etc at the bottom of the viewing window on H*R.com.
also,
"...you can upload it to the HR wiki suposing you have paint shop pro. If you don't, as far as I know your outta luck." I upload all my screenshots with MS Paint on Windows XP. As long as your image program allows saving it as a PNG, I think it pretty much all works.
and "Useful" is spelled with one L.
You can fix those if you want, or not. Your userpage is yours to do with what you please. Just thought I'd give you the heads up. Thanks for your continued contributions to the Knowledge base, and your useful userpage.

Back to Bassics
You can play the upright bass? Jazz or classical? Or other?— Bassbone (TALK CONT) 08:32, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
To be honest I only know that there are white basses and then there are the wood colored basses. I only know I play the Upright bass and It can play any type of music I want... except maybe not rap...or techno maybe...or hip-hop...But, If I had to take a guess I'd say Classical.. Only everyone thinks its a fat violin. Or an oversized cello. If I talk about it in a conversation they're all like, "I didn't know you played the drums!" Then They See it and it's like all. "What the heck is that thing?" or like "Oh! that kind of bass." So Latly Instead of just assuming they'd know if I meant bass drums I'd say "I play the bass drums," or "I play the Bass guitar." When You say "I play the bass" I think of like a bass in an orchestra. I like playing it but apparently the people I hang arround with know just as much about the bass as they do an instrument called "The Stick" It's got pick up on it, I got the bow, I got that little cord thing that hooks up to the amp but... I don't have an amp. Which kind of sucks. My instrument always is drowned out by all the trumpets and trombones and tubas. Then again I only got the bass line... And The Bass very rarly gets the melody... Well If You care to Could you explain Jazz or classical Basses and what the difference is?
Sorry for boring you to death, Yoshi_Minus_nothing 4:00 A.M. 13,April 2006
Code page 437
Take a look at Wikipedia:CP437 - lists all the characters you mentioned on your userpage... though you do have to convert from hexadecimal to decimal to use it for the Alt+numpad codes. --phlip TC 09:27, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
- Incidentally, the preferred way of entering accented characters on this wiki is with HTML entities, like é for é. --phlip TC 09:31, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
Well, I figured I may as well. I can't folow that stuff. And Besides that I like useing the key pad. Strong Bad has his computers that suck. I have my methods that according to you also suck. Thanks for the info though.
- If you're using Microsoft Windows on your computer, probably an easier way of accessing these characters is by clicking Start » Programs » Accessories » System Tools » Character Map. Alternatively, you could press Start » Run and then type "charmap" (without the quotes). This will bring you up an enormous table of characters to use. I would recommend switching to the font "Arial Unicode MS" if you want to see a larger list of characters (this font is installed on all Windows machines and has the highest number of characters of all the basic installation fonts). Going to the character map is probably a better approach for finding special characters, because there are over 65,000 of them. In other words, typing them out on your keyboard might take you a really, really long time. And also, your comment that "you can't folow that stuff." First of all, you don't need to be Strong Bad to point out that the correct word is "follow." Secondly, you should learn to follow that stuff. It's not that hard; don't be lazy! --Soapergem •

Once again, I got bored, decided to do that. I'm aware of other methods,. To be honest, I really don't care. I'll use them or I won't. What do you want me to do? Just delete it all? It's there, just deal with it. Thank you for your feedback and yet again, I don't care!
Miscellany
- Your new section on Character Oddities cracks me up. It sounds kind of like a stand-up routine. "So what's up with that Poopsmith guy? Huh?"
- The "change html to swf" technique is okay, but the image kinda spills out of the sides (at least on my screen) and you lose the buttons at the bottom. The ultimate solution is to first get FireFox (fo' real, it's like the difference between driving a car and driving a wagon fulla pancakes) and then install the Full Screen Homestar Runner extension. It's tremendous!
- You sound like you're getting a little bugged by the conversation above about Alt+number vs. hexadecimal, so I don't want to push it. However, what these folks are saying is that it's not just a matter of preference; it's part of our Standards. In other words, no problem if you don't want to use those funky characters at all. But if you do, use the "&something;" version, not the "Alt+something" version. (And it's not actually that hard; just use that link Phlip left.)
- The whole jazz bass vs. classical bass is a little like the way people keep asking me whats the difference between a fiddle and a violin. (I'm a violinist. Er, fiddler.) They're both pretty much the same instrument; the difference is just in the musical style. It sounds like you're in a big band, in which case you're probably playing a mix of both styles. (Other options would be being in a combo with, like, drums and a couple other instruments, or being in an orchestra in which you weren't the only string instrument. And if I had my way there would be a lot more of the latter in schools.) I'm a school orchestra teacher, which is why I have such a strong opinion about it. And although I've played the violin for about 18 years, I've only had about a year's experience with bass, so I've got a lot of respect for you—it ain't easy! By the way, you should check out Edgar Meyer, the pinnacle of bass-playing evolution. His website has a bunch of audio samples under "discography". —AbdiViklas 23:48, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks. I Like logic (a. 22 b. 25 c 55 d 75..... Well two of them start with the 2 in the tens disget and all except a. end with 5 So logicly the answer is B. kind of logic.) So I look At Homsar And I go all buggy...
- I have Firefox. I'm kind of mad that They made it so I can't use the Swf thingy For SBmails 1 through SB 129 any more though. upon Reading This Section The Forth or so time About $ or so Hours later fro The first Time I noticed That One Link... Thanks... That Rocks...
- Yeah I am bugged about that... I like Their advice But I usually Know Most About The Computer Where Ever I go. I don't like it explained in a "That's wrong, This Is right Way" I like It in a "You can do It this way Since it's more effecient But that way works too" I put a couple hours Into That So It bugged me off.
- I Asked a friend about this one. Apparently A jazz bass has a pick up And a classical doesn't. I've also Seen these basses that are finger board, Strings And Nothing Else. No body. Just so cords coming out the bottom. I don't know What that's all about. I went Into Some Place Called Guido's And They Had Some Guy Playing An instrment Called The Stick. It had 12 strings And it's really an intresting instrument. No plucking, You Just put your finger down On it. Really cool
Thanks For Your opinion and all :-). Sorry About Capitalizing In Random Places.
