[edit] Template:label and Updates page

Hello there. I cn see where you want to go with that thing, but could you please talk about it before going through all the pages and changing them? Maybe get a bit of consesus? Elcool (talk)(contribs) 16:27, 8 October 2006 (UTC)

this was created in responce to a conversation here. It was talked about a while ago and I decided to try implementing it. It would be used on other pages only on a case by case basis if it was decided to be useful there. Thank you for the concern.

Because that idea is relativly old, it would have been better if you brought it up again. Phlip have already did so, be advised for next time. Elcool (talk)(contribs) 16:46, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
Sorry, I am used to Wikipedia where the BE BOLD policy is popular. I forgot that this policy is not universal to wikis. I would, however like to see this properly implemented as I think it would be a great improvement to the wiki
"Be bold" is popular here too, but it's more "be bold, but know when not to be." If something would mean a large change, or a large number of changes, it's better to bring it up on a talk page first. The main reason for "be bold" is that if you make a mistake it's easy to revert... thus your boldness should be inversely proportional to the difficulty of reverting, which increases with large changes. Plus there's the whole BOLD, revert, discuss cycle thing, which is basically what's happening here. So: no harm, no foul. --phlip TC 17:07, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
Kewl. Insidentally, I really like what did end up happening to template:whatsnew. It was more that I tried introducing the idea a while ago and nothing happened with it. Rather than have that happen, I tried to bring to people's attension. I deffinately could have done it in a more reversable way. Thanks Olleicua 03:56, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
