[edit] Parodies

It is clear Crackotage is the target of many 80s cartoon parodies. One that is not mentioned in this page, but is mentioned elsewhere is that he is an allusion to Blaster from the Transformers cartoon.

Also, these allusions are plentyful enough that they merit they own 'category' or at least should be grouped together in a nicer way.

I think he also sounds like one of the cats in the later Heathcliff-cartoon who also spoke in rhyme.

The cat's name was Wordsworth, he had headphones (like Crackotage) and rollerskates.--Slackerboy 16:46, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

The article lists Crackotage as sounding like Jazz from "The Transformers", but if anything it's more like Warpath, the tank. Even his habit of laughing at the end of sentences is like Warpath's tendency to yell onamatopea like 'blam' after speaking. Warpath's probably a more apt allusion, too, given the Commandos' military feel. Just a thought. Klarsh 00:01, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

Picking this discussion back up, I agree with the person who his voice sounds a lot like Wordsworth (search Catillac Cats at YouTube), who, as mentioned above, speaks in rhyme and wears headphones for no discernible reason. — It's dot com 23:06, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

I think he is like Murdock [1] in The A-Team. Both characters are known for their plane-flying and silly rhymes and laughs. But I don't know, maybe I have just been watching too much A-Team recently. --Kanjiro talk 21:29, 12 June 2010 (UTC)

[edit] The plane he flies

The plane he flies in the toon is a F-14, I want to include that fact in his article, but I cannot decide the right wording. Can anyone help? - RPharazon 02:05, 10 October 2005 (UTC)

You can change the line that says "flies to that plane" to "flies a plane that is possibly an F-14" or something like that.68.70.103.164 02:07, 10 October 2005 (UTC) (Sorry that was me).SparkPlug 02:07, 10 October 2005 (UTC)

I don't know enough to prove it's an F-14 myself, but I trust you know what you're talking about. I had the same thought as SparkPlug, but then it occurred to me that that might imply he never flew any other plane, which we don't know. The best way would probably to go straight to Cheat Commandos...O's and edit the transcript; right before his appearance insert "F-14" into "There is a fighter jet..." &mdashAbdiViklas 02:15, 10 October 2005 (UTC)

In the GI*Joe Universe, the F-14 was marketed and appeared as the "Sky Striker" flown by Ace. The toy vehicle came packaged with the Ace figure included.--Slackerboy 16:45, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Recycling the Voice

Would it be too much to keep a list of people like the Dartmouth announcer, Original Bubs, and the Ill Cartographer/Gardenboy announcer, who sound like Crackotage? Bad Bad Guy 16:39, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Krusty the Clown

Crackotage's laugh resembles Krusty's laugh (the clown from The Simpsons). Is that worth mentioning in the article? --Pdedecker 07:26, 25 August 2008 (UTC)

I ddon't think there's that much of a similarity. — Defender1031*Talk 10:54, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
