  • Re this edit: are you sure it works that way? For one, deleting the file usually also deletes the redirect (unless the actual file content is removed) and I haven't tested file redirects in Mediawiki, much less when it involves file history. I just think it's better to leave such a long-standing file alone (and probably the same for similar images now that I think about it). --Stux 23:04, 6 July 2021 (UTC)
A file redirect
I checked with File:HR web screenshot.png (a redirect to File:HR web screenshot 2021-01-01.png) to make sure file redirects worked. The redirect may be deleted with the file, but in that case the redirect can be recreated (as a page in the "File" namespace can seemingly be created without a file). I admit I haven't tested this on page history, but I assume it would work the same way as the current revision. Gfdgsgxgzgdrc 18:37, 7 July 2021 (UTC)
