Hello Kamek, this is insane, I really hope you find this! I became a software developer in large part due to you. My passion for it started with creating characters for your AOL battler when I was just a young kid. I had an idea for a mobile version of your battler, would be interested in speaking to you about it. Send me an e-mail at samplesite@protonmail.com if you're interested at all. I'd love to have your insight on the project.

[edit] Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes

I noticed your changes. They seem similar (but not identical) to the ideas I'd come up with (like on User:Jay/Standards). There are some discrepencies, but the general layout is similar. Coincidence? You think the categories I came up with could be useful? --Jay 09:39, 11 Jan 2005 (MST)

I saw the categories being used in some of the newer emails, and I'm at work and I'm bored, so I thought it'd be a good idea to apply the categories to other emails/toons. Your category scheme seems better than just grouping everything under "Fun Facts", I could go back and fix them accordingly. Kamek 09:43, 11 Jan 2005 (MST)
Well, there aren't many differences. The removal of the Fun Facts heading, the separation of Goofs and Glitches, the names of a few categories, your "firsts" category was in the more general "Trivia", etc. Nothing that big. Just wondering if you'd seen my version. --Jay 09:48, 11 Jan 2005 (MST)
I agree that we need some new standards for what is currently known as the "fun facts" section, especially for the newer emails. Grouping them by category is probably the best way to go, and if we get rid of the "fun facts" header it might slow the influx of "un-fun un-facts".

[edit] Question from Sysop

Quick question, Kamek. Did you talk to ANYONE before changing the structure of the pages all up? I keep seeing (Conformed to proposed standards) on your changes, but I wonder to WHOM you proposed this idea.

This is a tremendous undertaking, and I've only seen about 3 people actually finish a job this big.

Anyways, perhaps you should talk with one of the Sysops before you decide that the site would be better off over-organized...

We'll see how things go, but I'm not real keen on how it's going right now.

[edit] Response

I saw it done on some of the newer Strong Bad Emails and felt that other emails should be edited accordingly. If you want I should stop then that's okay. The way I saw it was that there are changes that need to be made but nobody was actually doing anything about it, only proposing that said changes be made.

I've always been of the mindset that a Wiki belongs to its users, and said users are thus responsible for getting stuff done. Thus, I started these changes for the good of the Wiki, not for the good of myself. If this is not how things work here then please forgive me for my boldness.

[edit] Response to Kamek

No apology necessary. I just think that it should be agreed upon by a big chunk of the users. While you (the user) has every right to edit any page, so does every other user. Please don't be discouraged from editing the Wiki, and in retrospect, perhaps I was a little out of line in jumping down your throat like that, after all, you're right. It IS a wiki, and it IS up to the users to change things!

Keep doing what you're doing, and if the majority doesn't like it, then it goes! In the meantime, perhaps the organization of the funfacts will add a little something worthwhile. AgentSeethroo 10:24, 11 Jan 2005 (MST)

[edit] Response to response

As you can see from the above discussion (and my Talk page, from what used to be my subpages I didn't realize were against the rules), I'd already attempted to propose a similar organization for all e-mails (and potentially 'toons). Thus, I wholly support this organization scheme. --Jay 12:48, 11 Jan 2005 (MST)

[edit] Uh... what happened?

I was away for a couple of days (for the most part) and now I see you've un-done all the work you did. Why did you revert all the e-mails back? Did I miss something? --Jay 19:03, 16 Jan 2005 (MST)

I was just going to leave the old emails alone, and only split the newer emails bloated with fun facts. Kamek 21:55, 16 Jan 2005 (MST)
Well, I'm changing them all for consistency's sake (and so some newbie doesn't see all the earlier emails and add generic "Fun Facts" to something that doesn't have the section yet, like a brand new email.)
