::::::Did anybody notice that the Lappy's been around for as long as Compy, but only had as many emails as the Tandy? Even so, this is a little early to make a descision. :It's the comma becuse yeah, it's on the bottom. And most definitely the left little-toe, because if the screen is the Lappy's face, it's facing Strong Bad, and so the comma is on the right of the keyboard, which would be Lappy's left. -Ein Poltergeist

:Just when I think I'm out... Okay, Brightstar Shiner gave me something to think about. Thanks for that. Yes, without question the artists are TBC. Also, if they (TBC) felt that something absolutely HAD to be in a certain order, it either wouldn't be an easter egg (it would be part of the main e-mail content), or it would be one easter egg with one thing following the other, thus forcing the viewer to see it their preferred order. Therefore, we can safely assume that they are comfortable with these easter eggs being viewed in an arbitrary order. Either way works, or they wouldn't have allowed it to be either way. In light of this, I find Qermaq's argument very compelling. In this case, both the top/bottom and the more prominent clickpoint argument works in favor of the switch. I think it also happens to tell a better story, but I've already confessed that that is totally subjective. One last thought on this... everyone contributing to this process has been just great. This could easily have turned into a flame war or an edit war, but it has stayed entirely civil. I admire all of you for that. --72.229.110.222 04:18, 27 September 2006 (UTC)

::Indeed, making the choice based on subjective feelings is arbitrary and non-useful. I purposefully avoided my own comedic sense in thinking about this. We're documenting the toon, not interpreting it. Therefore, we need to remain objective, and in the case of clickable points on a screen, what's more objective than reading order? And to Anonny's last point - no, we don't want a flame war; this is what happens when no one does! Isn't is nice? Don't you want to be part of a community which operates under such mutual respect? Go for it. Sign up. 04:39, 27 September 2006 (UTC)

I almost switched this before I saw the note that said bring it to talk page. Now I see this hasn't been in question for almost 10 months now, which is ridiculous. I've felt strongly about it being Homestar, then Coach Z ever since I first saw the toon. In fact, idk why i left it for this long. Here are some reasons why:

-
*Everyone knows that mashing the tab key tells you where the clickable items are in the page. And if you didn't, you do now. Anyway, the exact order of tabbing is: the paper, the Homestar easter egg, the Coach Z easter egg, the go back link, with Homestar coming before Coach Z.

-
*i agree with whoever said that "sports team" is more likely to be a water cooler conversation subject to talk about. it looks to me like homestar was attempting to start talking about a sports team, since he actually does say he's making water cooler conversation, trying to sound up with the times, whereas coach z gives no reason why he might have said "sports team". I also agree with the fact that Coach Z is more likely to talk about a sports team, but there is a big difference between saying two words out of context and to start talking about what the two words are about. Like, if I'm talking about you and you catch me on something and I just randomly say "ballet practice" in response, just to make a different example than "sports team", that never means i started talking about ballet practice. <s>It looked to me like Coach Z saying it was a reference to Homestar saying it</s> I guess either one could be a reference to the other, actually.

-
*Also, it seems like Homestar's easter egg was like continuing the current story, which you're already up on your toes for, when Coach z's was going back a ways. If Coach Z's comes first, then you would have to go back a ways twice instead of once. If they show up at the same time, the easter eggs should be in order of how close they are to the subject of the easter egg. As for order top to bottom, that's Homestar to coach z; and order left to right dne.

-
*<s>As for frames, what the heck were you talking about?</s> thanks to Qermaq i guess i really don't need to say that.

-

-

-
To make a long story short, I say Homestar before Coach Z and honestly, i never go off like that unless it's well worth your time. So read it and be enlightened as to which is the better choice. Kevin G. Dannerson 18:40, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

:Wow would you look at that. A glitch in my flash player revealed the answer to me. It turns out the one i fought for in july of last year (yes i changed my name since then) is incorrect. I still think the wrong order is better though. My flash player is playing a couple seconds into the easter eggs in sequential order. At the end of the toon, i hear coach z saying "nah, i bet if" and then at the end of the coach z easter egg, i hear homestar saying, "yeah. ye" and at the end of the homestar easter egg, i don't hear anything, so i'm gonna say this is the answer that has been reclusive from us for so long. anyone want to agree? or is no one ever going to see this, like what happened the last time i tried to write something in this argument? y'all should really look. if you agree, respond b/c i'm pretty sure this is the resolution to this cliffhanger. 20:11, 3 September 2008 (UTC)

I'm thinking that Malmsteen's comet is not a reference to Frehley. Just Malmsteen. I mean, after all, nearly every well-known comet is named possessively, like Halley's. Besides, isn't Ace like one of the least popular of the original K.I.S.S. members? (Sorry if I'm wrong on that.) I suppose what I'm suggesting here is that maybe it just be changed to "possibly a reference to Frehley's" etc. etc. Opinions? I may just be bold and change it myself, since it's not too major. -- 4.244.208.196 22:56, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

Could the synthesized music after "It's guacamole and banana bread time, Strap!" be a nod to the show Good Eats? It sounds very similar to the incidental music played in that show (for instance, while trivia is being displayed) ... --Benjamin Geiger 11:58, 18 May 2007 (UTC)

-
: It's not similar at all, except they're both... incidental music. Maybe if the context was similar I'd call this a reference, but I seriously doubt that it is. — 12:43, 18 May 2007 (UTC)

-
:: I figured that the 'food' aspect, and the obvious "synthesizer sound", made it a fairly clear reference. Besides, they sound very similar, not like the 'disco' mentioned on the page at all... but that's just me, I guess. --Benjamin Geiger 13:04, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
