Stongbad says "But don't take it from me...". That sounds similar to the token phrase from Reading Rainbow: "But don't take my work for it...". Maybe too far of a stretch. 65.208.30.254

*Coach Z's arms are messed up; they are separated at the elbow.

-

-
I'm not so sure about this "goof".  While it's technically true (that's how they are animated), it doesn't seem to be significantly different here than in any other toon. Am I missing something? 00:46, 9 September 2008 (UTC)

-
:Look for the outline of the lower arm separating the upper arm in certain poses. that usually doesn't happen. 00:53, 9 September 2008 (UTC)

::Do you mean the lower arm being drawn on top of the upper arm instead of underneath it?  That seems to be pretty common. I found one or two frames where there's an actual gap between them though. 01:04, 9 September 2008 (UTC)

Uh. That's not a bear. The ears look more like eyes to me. And the eyes look like nostrils. Also, what's with the spikes on its arms? 23:43, 9 September 2008 (UTC)

-
: Fur? Anyway, compare the ears and eyes to those of the Bear Holding a Shark. -- 23:56, 9 September 2008 (UTC)

-
: Okay, granted, I just checked and the eyes don't match the BhaS as well as I remembered. Still looks like a bear to me though. -- 23:59, 9 September 2008 (UTC)

-
::Before I read this topic, there was no question in my mind that it was a bear. Now, it still looks like a bear to me. 00:20, 10 September 2008 (UTC)

-
:Y'know, you've got a point there.  I just accepted that it was a bear, but it does have some decidedly monster-like characteristics.  (Image) I do still contend that the intended effect is the KoT's crown as the beast's lower jaw.  - 01:49, 10 September 2008 (UTC)

-
::I see a reptilian monster with an elongated snout (the crown IS the lower jaw), and i'm sure that was the intention. I do, however, see how one could think it's a bear. Similar to the old hag/young woman illusion, the "bear's" eyes are the nostrils, and the "bear's" ears are the eyes. 01:54, 10 September 2008 (UTC)

SB Peeking?
-

-
When the New Paper comes down at the end, SB moves the picture of "Hungry Shark Emails" downwards to show the parts covered by New Paper, which is basically the formula followed for Homestar Peeking. Should this count as a reference? I know the other characters rarely if ever do this... -Zero.exe

-
:No, Strong Bad moved a piece of paper at, like, the second the paper came down. So, he could've just done it so it wouldn't get messed up or something like that. Doesn't really qualify as peeking. 22:54, 10 September 2008 (UTC)

Bestest/Greatest
-

-
Um, this got DELETED, but I am pretty sure that in Coach Z's rap (including the easter egg), he says "bestest" instead of greatest, except the last time that greatest is said in the easter egg. Can anybody confirm/disprove this? 22:14, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

-
:Greatest. definitely. "Bestest" isn't even a word. 22:17, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

-
::Pfargtl, Biz, Caz, Fri, and Whatsit don't appear in the dictionary, and in the dictionary I'm holding, bestest does. Also, when Coach Z says greatest for sure at the end of the easter egg, it sounds completely different than when the transcript says that he said greatest. 22:26, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

-
:I added "bestest" in two spots after listening through the toon a second time, noting how distinct "greatest" sounds at the end of the full rap.  However, I recorded both instances and after replaying them several times, I had to concede that he does say "greatest", so I reverted both of my edits.  He just says "greatest" differently the first two times. - 02:20, 12 September 2008 (UTC)

-
::Before I noticed the controversy, I thought he said "bestest" at some point... but I'm not hearing it now. Just "greatest". -- 02:56, 12 September 2008 (UTC)

-
:::Ditto that.  I think we're psychologically set up to hear "bestest" if we're not paying close attention because everyone else in the toon says "the best choice." - 03:00, 12 September 2008 (UTC)

-
::::That's....actually a plausible theory. Oh, and ReverendTed, could you upload that recording somehow? 14:38, 12 September 2008 (UTC)

-
:::::I suppose I could, but I don't really know where would be good for that.  Besides, if you watch through the toon once, you can play the full rap repeatedly at the end. - 01:53, 13 September 2008 (UTC)

Likes to get what?
-
In the easter egg, during Coach Z's rap he says "my name's Coach Z and I likes to get..." This word following this is listed as "noice" here in the wiki, but listening to this line over and over, I find this highly unlikely as there is definitely a "t" sound at end. I suspect this may be "I likes to get moist", which although it doesn't match the "nice" theme, it does sound like something Coach Z might say. Also, despite the fact that the cd cover says "noice" he appears to have no problem with the word later in the song.

-
:Don't forget to sign your comments.  Anyway, I hear "noice", and I believe the "t" sound you're hearing is just hiss\feedback from the "s" sound.  As for why he pronounces it differently, that's probably because he's trying to make it rhyme on the first occurrence, not because of his speech impediment. - 01:50, 13 September 2008 (UTC)

-
::Actually, I agree with the annony. I hear moist. I never heard nice(noice). It could only be Coach Z's accent, but I'm standing by moist. 04:28, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

-
:::It's clearly "noice", for reasons of both context and rhyme scheme. --DorianGray 04:34, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

-
::::It's about being nice, "moist" makes no sense, not even as some joke. 04:35, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

-
:::::Moist? No. It's "noice", as a mispronunciation of "nice" Ivoj Nob 04:47, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

-
::::::I think Coach Z getting "moist" is entirely possible.. tough one.. I'll withhold judgement and wait for the DVD, hoping for better audio. 04:50, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

-
:::::::Oprimistic-man, "noice" matches the caption in the easter egg, so I don't think it would be "moist". Ivoj Nob 04:55, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

-
:::::::::Right.  And what I'm saying is that I can't hear it clearly enough to determine whether it is "moist" or "noice".  I'm being objective, see?  Which is why I am withholding judgement until I hear it with better sound quality.  That's what's going to sell me.  Until then, if consensus says "noice" it doesn't bother me one bit.  17:19, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

-
::::::::I hear the "t", too...but...hey, what's this? It's the beat in the background that sounds like a "t" (kinda) that plays at the moment "noice" is over. Plus, as Ivoj Nob said, "noice" is what the album/single cover says. 06:05, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

-
:::::::I too think Coach Z getting moist is probable, but as a lyric I am both uninterested and unconvinced. "Noice", a Tree-Stooges-esqu variant of "nice", is more sensible in context. 13:05, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

-
::::::::I believe the point of the joke is that Coach Z is a poor lyricist and is trying to force a rhyme between the intended lyric "nice" and the other words, "choice" and "voice". - 16:57, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

-
{eats colons} Well, getting moist is in Coach Z's character, yet I still think it's "noice". 17:29, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

Character video
The KoT interrupts Coach Z in the middle of his rap in a similar manner to Homestar in his (Coach Z's) character video. Notable? 129.174.182.59 03:41, 17 September 2008 (UTC)

-
:Marzipan also interrupts Coach Z's freestyling in Fall Float Parade (on the grounds that it's "really annoying"). At the very least, I think it should be included in Coach Z's biography page. Something about how he likes rap, and the other characters don't like when he tries. --DorianGray 03:44, 17 September 2008 (UTC)

The other two "Nice Dad" emails had the subject lines "chum" and "role model", addressed to a shark (chum is shark bait) and a role-playing game addict. This notable?
