Whatsit is a featured article, which means it showcases an important part of the Homestar Runner body of work and/or highlights the fine work of this wiki. We also might just think it's cool. If you see a way this page can be updated or improved without compromising previous work, feel free to contribute. |

[edit] Picture
Where did this picture of Whatsit come from? Could we instead get a replacement picture that captures Whatsit in the realms of the H*R universe? —BazookaJoe 05:00, 17 Jul 2005 (UTC)
- It's the Whatsit from the Theme Song Video. Homestar Coder 05:49, 17 Jul 2005 (UTC)
- Oh! Sure enough. —BazookaJoe 12:55, 17 Jul 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Capitalization
Okay. I've seen a few different instances of capitalization here, and its either used as "Whatsit" or "whatsit." I just had someone correct my capitalization, although I see many other instances of it in this article and others. Should it remain capitalized or un-capitalized? ♥ teeeffoh! 22:12, 23 February 2006 (UTC)
- Curious: beginning of sentence and "Whatsit All About" aside, when is it capitalized? --Senorial Jay (Convolutions) 22:14, 23 February 2006 (UTC)
- These sentences:
- In narrator, Strong Bad makes a preview for a movie called "Whatsit All About?", which features The Poopsmith with his pile of whatsit.
- A picture of Whatsit also appears on the final page of the book in pop-up.
- There, and there. I haven't looked at any of the other articles, but those should be checked. ♥ teeeffoh! 22:17, 23 February 2006 (UTC)
- The first one wasn't capitalized outside of the mock movie title, and the second one is fixed. --Senorial Jay (Convolutions) 22:19, 23 February 2006 (UTC)
- There, and there. I haven't looked at any of the other articles, but those should be checked. ♥ teeeffoh! 22:17, 23 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Whatsit/Crap
Why can't they just cal "whatsit" "Crap"?It had a picture of whatsit in pop-up but instead, Strong bad said "Crap Flap" instead of "Whatsit Flap". Can they decide on a name for Whatsit/Crap some time this century?--Gir007 01:40, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
- They used "crap flap" in pop-up because it rhymed, like "ab tab" and "flab tab". Other than that, most of the time, Whatsit is the item, while Crap is just an interjection. --Senorial Jay (Convolutions) 01:50, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Name?
I was going to do The Poopsmith's Whatsit as a page but then i found this one. But all of the examples of whatsit on the page "belong" to the Poopsmith, so maybe we could change the page's name? --Acam30 00:09, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
- nah, just plain whasit is a good name. Why is the possessive necessary? — Defender1031*Talk 00:10, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] First Time it's Mentioned?
When is the first time Whatsit is called by its name?— Bassbone (TALK CONT) 06:36, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Greenish substance
Whatsit in MLS was green and that kind on the Poopsmith's gloves only appeared on that toon. It was a little green in A Jumping Jack Contest. 198.228.228.42 23:13, 13 March 2013 (UTC)
