Some info for you: I have a Wii, and have every episode of SBCG4AP on it, and have all of the free demos of them on my computer. So I can help with a few things. And shouldn't each page of SBCG4AP, such as Homestar Ruiner, have links to pages like: Homestar Ruiner Walkthrough, and Homestar Ruiner Responses? Sende feedback please. - 21:17, 15 November 2008 (UTC)

What's with all the crappy pictures? It's a bit odd that the game actually has a function for taking pictures built into it, yet nobody appears to be capable of getting a good screen capture. Most of the SBCG4AP pictures on the wiki are blurry or pixelated - is everyone playing on 640x480, low quality mode, windowed? I don't know how the Wii version works, but surely screenshots saved to SD card from there can't be that pixelated... -Poopsmith Z

Similar to writing "Email" before the name of a Strong Bad Email in articles, should we write something like "SBCG4AP" before the name of an episode of Strong Bad's Game? 21:50, 8 January 2009 (UTC)

::I disagree. I don't quite know why we do it for emails (other than tradition), but if I had to guess, it'd be because of A) the large number of emails compared to everything else, and/or 2) the names being lowercase. Neither of these apply to SBCG4AP. --DorianGray 22:02, 8 January 2009 (UTC)

Screencaps <i>and</i> Logos?
+
-

+
-
"oh, homestar in his army uniform. must be a war" I don't know why I didn't realize it sooner, but all that proved was that the icons are misleading.  Which I still believe.  Which is why I made a subpage of various compromises between screencaps, logos, and icons.  If you want, comment which works the best. 17:19, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
+
-
:Personally, I think that solution A is probably the most elegant.  However, I would point out that the main purpose of the SBCG4AP article is summarize the entire series.  Any sort of extended plot summary of each the individual games, as well as screenshots, should be left to the game page.  To that end, it may be worth thinking about moving some of the gallery images off (as was done previously with the reviews) to the game pages. 03:04, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
+
-
::I don't see what's "misleading" about any of it. It's fine as it was. 17:49, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
+
-
:::As I explain on my subpage, more time in "Strong Badia the Free" is spent protesting than battling.  When the characters finally go off into battle, during the last five minutes of the game I might add, the game just cuts to a loading screen, then shows what happens a week after the battle ended.  On a minor note, The Cheat never sports a mohawk in "Baddest of the Bands". 17:53, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
+
-
::::And this is a problem why? 17:54, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
+
-
:::::Well, that "Baddest of the Bands" thing isn't really a problem; I just threw it in there.  The "Strong Badia the Free" thing was supposed to show how your argument could be made null by the fact there isn't an onscreen war. Further problems are caused by a fact I pointed out earlier: the "Homestar Ruiner" icon tells us nothing other than the fact Strong Bad is in it.  Also keep in mind that you can always weed the Telltale website for seemingly better screencaps. 18:01, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
+
-
::::::It's nice that you think so. Those are the official images that telltale and TBC chose and i think it's a bit arrogant and presumptuous to call their logos "misleading" and insist that we provide something "better". There's also no reason that we need to have a screencap that gives a good idea of what the game is about on this page. We're just giving the descriptions and links to the articles on the games. In short, it's fine how it is. 18:03, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
+
-
On an unimportant side note, while the main screencaps at the Telltale forum announcements for the last two are the same ones I picked for each episode's main Wiki article, the one for "Strong Badia the Free" tells us even less about the game than the pictures we use.  Take a look.  But only if you want to. 18:18, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
+
-
:I made another table on my subpage just now, but it's pretty tall.  <s>Is that a problem?</s>  I realize now that it is.  Also, I'm not sure what to make of this quote: "Those are the official images that telltale and TBC chose and i think it's a bit arrogant and presumptuous to call their logos 'misleading' and insist that we provide something 'better'."  I believe I was not being presumptuous at all because I never called the logos misleading and whenever possible, picked episode screencaps from among those that TBC and Telltale selected.  Where did you think I got them from?  I can't even pick different screencaps since I play the Wii versions of the episodes.  I also wish to respond to this quote: "There's also no reason that we need to have a screencap that gives a good idea of what the game is about on this page.  We're just giving the descriptions and links to the articles on the games."  You can make a similar argument for the Toons article, yet we do it anyway. 21:40, 24 April 2009 (UTC)
+
-
::Something I just noticed is that the official game website has the icons, and pages for each individual episode have screencaps, but the logos are nowhere to be found unless you count videos.  So if anyone should be called pretentious and wanting something better than TBC's intents, it would be you.  But I fortunately know better than to insult you like that. 03:44, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
+
-
:::I'm not so sure you do, actually, given that you pretty much did just say Deffy was pretentious. Sure, you stuck in a modal to make it a hypothetical situation, but that really makes no difference on the effect of what you're saying (i.e., "if anyone should be called pretentious and wanting something better than TBC's intents, it would be you" has basically the same effect as saying "you are pretentious and wanting something better than TBC's intents"). 04:55, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
+
-
::::Oh, I didn't know there was no difference.  I thought what I did was kind of like, "You deserve this, but I'm not giving it to you", and that it was completely uncalled for for him to call me arrogant in the first place. 12:03, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
+
-
:::::Well, I didn't say there was no difference at all, just that it was basically the same. But the thing is, with actions, you can say "you deserve X, but I'm not going to give it to you", where X = a punch in the face, a kick in the rear, you name it. With words, once you've said them, they're there, regardless of whether you meant to give them or not. Now, as for your assertion that Defender's action were out of line: to be completely fair, he didn't really call you arrogant; rather, he said what you were doing was "a bit arrogant". Still, I do agree that it was pretty undiplomatic and didn't help the situation. Can we all possibly make up and agree to be cordial from now on? That would be great. Resume content dispute. 12:34, 29 April 2009 (UTC)

The bonus DVD version of SBCG4AP is in the works (they are promising to have it out by Comi-Con in July), so a question now becomes, how do we handle the release.  Is it like another DVD? Should it be another section of this article?  Telltale has given some hints of the contents, such as Behind The Bad and mp3 of songs from the games, but I don't think we've had to deal with a physical release of any of the games before. 04:22, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

Better screenshots
+
-

+
-
Are there any screenshots at the official websites for episodes 2 and 3 that do a better job summarizing and promoting the episodes than the ones I selected?  Right now, I'm leaning very strongly towards changing the episode 3 picture to the second one featured here.  Regarding Episode 2, I can't say whether the ones of Strong Bad and the flag are better than the protest one because while Strong Bad is in them, he's not really doing anything. 15:39, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
+
-
:So, here's the screenshot I was thinking of using for episode 2.  Like the one I picked for episode 1, it supplements the summary well, but unfortunately wouldn't hold up if you find it by itself.  If it becomes the main screenshot, then I think the gameplay trailer article would have the picture where the flag is in the distance.  Is this idea so good or no good? Here are some examples of how pages would look with the flag picture in place of the protest picture. 15:11, 18 April 2009 (UTC)

I've noticed that in SBCG4AP episodes, right-clicking ends the character's line that is speaking and goes on to the next one. For example, in the tutorial, Strong Bad's lines:

**"The magnifying glass* goes in my inventory."

If I right clicked at the *, Strong Bad would not say, "goes in my inventory" but instead go on to the "click here..." line.

Recent
The reason I said that sbcg4ap was recently released is because, um, it was recently released! Sorry for the confusion. 2008 wasn't that long ago. The game has been gradually increasing in popularity since it's release. The game explains all modern h*r relationships, and nothing has changed since it's debut. I'd suggest saying that the game was recently released because of the short period of time since it was released, compared to the entire lifespan of homestarrunner.com. It was at PAX 2010, by the way.
+
-
: In the world of video games, two to three years is a fair amount of time. What's more, the longer the Wiki exists, the less true that "recent" is anyway. Better not to put such descriptors, even if it was released last week. -- 22:06, 28 February 2011 (UTC)

:Only if we can't sort them better on the pages that are specifically written for items. For example, I would place Strong Sad's camera on the page for Cameras, or Pom Pom's katana on the page for Weapons, or Coach Z's toilet paper on the page where toilet paper would go. And the generic lighter Strong Bad uses is already sorted as part of the BMW Lighter page. And Quesos has its own page, even though it only appeared once and was briefly mentioned one other time. But there will be some pieces that won't be sorted. Do we need a page to place the bent hanger? Do we need a place for the hedge clippings? (Don't we have a list of all the inventory items in each game on the main page for each game)? -- 68.37.43.131 01:02, 7 August 2019 (UTC)

::DorianGray's page does have additional info that the main pages for the individual installments don't have, namely each item's use and location. The data files for the games contain English versions of the Cheat's and Pom Pom's dialogue in the games. Should they be added to the appropriate articles? 14.202.123.115 14:47, 4 May 2022 (UTC)

:The wiki uses the official subtitles seen in the game, so far I think the consensus is to leave the files to be found on the Cutting Room Floor wiki. Maybe a page of the alternate lines would be good, as I also think they should be added, but maybe not there, to not confuse people who haven't played the game, I dunno I'm just playing it safe saying all the reasons I know the lines aren't on the wiki ----J∃ffJMan 15:14, 4 May 2022 (UTC)
