Well, this is an odd one

This page already exists at Reg Having the Ball. the question is simple. which layout is better, and which one do we keep? — Defender1031*Talk 01:53, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

I say we keep the old layout because there is really only two appearance of Reg having the ball at the top of the key, which is the title of this article. The other appearances would not exactly go with the title (as they either don't have Reg mentioned or have him being at the top of the key be mentioned). This leaves only two appearances and would not count as a running gag. Homestar-Winner (talk) 02:50, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
I'm not sure, myself. The two jokes seem to be somewhat related, and there's some overlap... I'd suggest merging the two into one page to avoid redundancy, but eh. -YKHi. I'm Ayjo! 02:51, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
Alternate idea: If we decide to stick with separate pages, this one should probably remain as a disambig page. -YKHi. I'm Ayjo! 02:55, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
I agree. We should make this an ambig page for Reg Having the Ball and Top of the KeyLoafing 02:58, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
I personally like how this page combines both Reg Having the Ball and Top of the Key. It makes it so we only need one article to document two subjects. --Mario2.PNG Super Martyo boing! 05:18, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
As I've said several times, I personally think they should've been combined at the start. They're essentially the same joke, despite any variations in wording. The same idea is concurrent through both of them. --DorianGray 06:15, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
It seems like Top of the key and this article should be the same, but the differences make this situation really weird to me... On a more on topic note, I like the layout on the other article better. So I guess my vote is to delete. Acam30 05:19, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
I just find it strange that this article covers "Sometimes a guy named Reg has the ball at the top of the key, and sometimes Reg has the ball elsewhere, and sometimes other things happen at the top of the key and some of those other things also include a ball" ... In all honesty, I think the author did a decent job of it, and it's better than I would have expected, but it's just a weird combination of pages, even though most of the gag stemmed from the complete thought that Reg had the ball at the top of the key. Keep separate. I like the idea of this being a disambig. OptimisticFool 05:44, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
Okay, I was looking at the talk page for either reg had the ball or top of the key and decided to take matters into my own hands. And by that, I mean making a page combining both pages. And so I did! Please don't put it as a disambig page. I just couldn't STAND you guys not merging the two pages. Get rid of them, please. This page makes them obsolete. Leave this page be. Oh, and I'll add a "see also" thingy linking to both pages. but, a buttdanceNeox ONION BUBS!YOU WILL RESPECT MAH AUTHORI-TAH!!! 18:43, 21 July 2008 (UTC)
Nay, keep 'em separate. Just look at the page: there are more variations than straight uses! (Though, arguably, one variation IS a straight usage, that still only makes them equal.) --Jay (Talk) 18:46, 21 July 2008 (UTC)
Don't merge the two jokes. It may sound great on paper but (no offense) this article just looks clumsy. I prefer having two, clear separate articles. What was wrong with the See Also links at the bottom of both pages? No merge. The Chort 18:52, 21 July 2008 (UTC)
I swear on Strong Sad's grave that if you delete this article, I shall un-delete it. The content on the two separate pages stem from one running gag that is covered completely in this article. Don't delete this article OR ELSE. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED... but, a buttdanceNeox ONION BUBS!YOU WILL RESPECT MAH AUTHORI-TAH!!! 14:08, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
After seeing the arguments made here, it seems like the people who say keep this article do so on the basis of some overlap, while the ones who say make this a disambig say that while there is some overlap, there isn't enough that the main point is the same. When i first posted the question, i was open to either thing, but after seeing the arguments made here, it seems clear to me, that they are in fact two separate, yet related gags. And Neox, please don't threaten other users. Remember, this is a wiki, please try to maintain the necessary mentality therein. — Defender1031*Talk 22:06, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
If that is the case, why not keep it? Also, I was only threatening to undo the deleting of this article if it was to be deleted. But I get your point. but, a buttdanceNeox ONION BUBS!YOU WILL RESPECT MAH AUTHORI-TAH!!! 01:46, 3 August 2008 (UTC)

Here's a reminder that this discussion is still open.. do we consider this a consensus to make a disambig, or is there still more to be said? OptimisticFool 03:35, 8 September 2008 (UTC)

I say we DELETE it, because each appearance is used in Top of the Key. Religious Corn   17:32, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
