I feel like mentioning that I used to think it was more necessary to make this match Missing Lappy than vice verca, and the only reason I got so ticked when Missing Lappy was reverted was because they no longer matched.  I actually edited this twice before doing Lappy, though the first time was simply rearranging the Cast (order of appearance) section, which I'd like to know if anyone else minds if I change again, if I can't revise the whole thing.  Another idea I had was to put "Homestar" and "Strong Bad" in quotes during the transcript. Bad Bad Guy 00:23, 13 May 2007 (UTC)

-
:Although, I somewhat fear that the 2nd idea will go agaist the intentions of TBC, but then again, Quermac doesn't think these transcripts should replace the toons, which makes me wonder if he accepts ideas that go against their intentions. Bad Bad Guy 00:27, 13 May 2007 (UTC)

-
::This quotation mark thing might match their intentions.  It could say, "it's not really Homestar, but you aren't supposed to know that."  Anyway, I already took steps towards accuracy in other pages and in the imdb Everything Else 2 quotes page as well. I really don't see how this is exactly the same as Missing Lappy. In Missing Lappy, Homestar doesn't even make it through one line before breaking the Marzipan voice, and he doesn't take on Marzipan's mannerisms either (i.e. I was wondering why Marzipan was acting like Homestar before the voice changed). In this toon, we have Strong Bad perfectly imitating Homestar for several minutes, including his mannerisms (i.e. the reference to Witches' Brew and the like). I am in favor of keeping both articles as they are. 22:31, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

:I feel like this quote from the commentary is important: "We didn't know the ending of until after we'd made pretty much the whole cartoon. Yeah, except for the end— ...Homestar judging all the pumpkins and then at the end we didn't know what was gonna happen or how it was gonna end and then we came up with it pretty much right before we made it and put it up." So, in a sense, it actually was Homestar right up until Strong Bad unzipped his costume. Or we should probably recognize that it makes sense like it is and stop being so pedantic about it. &mdash; It's dot com 23:38, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

The true Strong Bad reveals himself as the ultimate winner of the contest. I think this would actually make sense that he would win, since he (though technically, it should be The Goblin dressed up as he), Strong Mad and Bubs are the only ones who did not get a bad prize (last, worst, etc.). If anybody reads this (I thought it would be more likely this time o' year), a goof should be added that while viewing Strong Mad's pumpkin, the Cheat throws his hands up and his left one goes underneath Homestar/Strong Bad's sock.  I would have added this myself, but I didn't have a picture to support it with. -- 4.244.212.239 19:59, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

:I'm kinda neutral on the issue.  It does vaguely resemble a redead mask but I'm pretty certain it's unintentional.  Anyway, what I can say is I guarantee the editor wasn't talking about the windwaker version, which is the picture you linked.  (I agree that it does look like that's the third picture, so I'm not sure what they meant).  I can't find a good picture of the ocarina of time version, which is what I'm sure the editor was talking about.  This is the closest I can find. -132.183.151.223 17:36, 19 October 2009 (UTC)

In actuality, Strong Bad/Homestar did not decide on a true winner. But I want to know, out of the actual contestants, who the users of this wiki think should have actually won. Any ideas on a real winner?

calling SB "Homestar"
-

-
I can understand it in the transcript, but there are a lot of places in the Remarks and References sections where the disguised Strong Bad is referred to as Homestar. This seems weird to me, as it means some interesting points are missed, especially the fact that Strong Bad, not Homestar, started the "my dog" and "witch's brew" running gags. Flicky1991 13:03, 8 July 2011 (UTC)

-
:Except he kind of didn't. From the commentary transcript: "So this cartoon, uh, we didn't know the ending of until after we'd made pretty much the whole cartoon." In their minds, it was actually Homestar who was doing all of the stuff Homestar typically does, and it was haphazardly retconned to Strong Bad when they pulled the ending out of their you-know-whats at the last minute. &mdash; It's dot com 16:16, 8 July 2011 (UTC)

* As of , H*R.com updates 2002 gives this toon a release date of October 28.

* As of , Pumpkin Carve-nival lists a release date of October 29.

-
So which is the actual release date? Somehow I doubt it was uploaded at 11:59:59 PM on the 28th making both correct. (fun fact: in the ghosts commentary TBC can't remember either) -- 16:43, 28 September 2022 (UTC)

-
:Just to note, All Toons gives the date as October 28 as of . <br />I noticed some similar inconsistencies between All Toons, H*R.com updates, and toons' articles as I was going through the body of work in 2020. In those cases, it was generally All Toons that disagreed with the other two. The 28th seems the most likely in this case with the page for the toon itself being outnumbered two against one, though I'm not sure where the specific dates listed for pre-wiki toons (which this seems to be) come from. 20:41, 29 September 2022 (UTC)
