Has anyone noticed that when you click the scroll bar(and buttons) on the 'Denny's Menu' area it makes the LCD effect? It's almost like the scroll buttons are actually on the screen and you have to exert force with your finger to make it scroll down. -- Abelhawk 20:12, 11 April 2007 (UTC)

:Maybe the Lappy has a touch screen. It's pretty advenced, for Strong Bad. The man with no plan- DrPepper42 02:41, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

#Do Nice Dad's gems even count as emails, since they were... well, I don't know where they came from (figments of the Lappy's imagination?)  23:07, 9 September 2008 (UTC)

Understated feature list
-

-
* 42 pounds!! (19 kilograms—"Extremely portable" according to Strong Bad in animal; he later describes it as "allegedly portable" in technology.)

-

-
:Not likely whatsoever; Most laptops are going to be no more than 10lbs, even vintage ones.

-

-
* 2MB Hard Drive! (Later said to be 5MB, as of retirement)

-

-
:I don't believe hard drives were ever made in 2MB capacities; either way, a 486-era machine would likely have a hard drive in the neighborhood of 150 to 600MB.

-

-
* "Several" Color Monitor

-

-
:It's likely going to have 8 bit video, providing a palette of 256 possible colors.

-

-
* Warning: Five Minute Battery Life (Strong Bad said it is "One half of ten minutes"—evidence shown in part-time job)

-
** In Homestar Ruiner and Strong Badia the Free, Strong Bad claims the Lappy's battery takes five to seven business days to fully charge ("The Lappy don't charge on weekends.")

-

-
:This one is semipossible; a battery of such vintage would likely have degraded to the point of uselessness, and would more than likely have a battery life of 5 seconds if that, and would actually never charge.

-

-
* 512K RAM (0.5 MB)

-

-
:A 486-vintage machine would likely have AT LEAST 2MB of RAM, with 4MB and 8MB being more likely, barring upgrades and expansions.

-

-
* "Finally, a computer for your lap!"—Compy

-

-
:This could mean that it's Compy's first laptop model, since laptops had been around from well before the 486 era.

-

-
* Although never mentioned, the Lappy may support a wireless internet connection. In part-time job, isp, Happy Dethemberween, licensed, rated, and your edge, it can be seen that Strong Bad does not use the Lappy's Ethernet socket.

-

-
:486-era laptops did not have built-in ethernet ports, except perhaps in some extreme or specialized cases. (PCMCIA cards typically provided an ethernet connection as well as the network hardware to support it.) As for a wireless internet connection, it's possible that one could be provided via a PCMCIA card, or this could be a case similar to the disconnected telephones.

-

-
* In the email environment, claims made about the Lappy include:

-
** Every time the "enter" key is pressed, everyone else in town will temporarily lose electricity.

-
** When the Lappy runs on battery power, 45 acres of rainforest are burned to the ground.

-

-
:Looking at the power requirements listed on my personal "Lappy 486" (an Ambra OEM Sceptre TS30AS using an Intel i486SX @ 33MHz), the power inputs needed are 17V @ 1A/2A or 20V @ 1.05A. Using P=IV, this works out to 17-34W, which is actually quite reasonable. 68.10.121.73

-

-
:Of course these don't seem real. The Lappy's supposed to sound like a really crappy computer. Also, it's a cartoon, you probably shouldn't worry about it. 02:31, 28 September 2008 (UTC)

The Lappy a Boy???
-

-
In the introduction, it says that the Lappy was introduced as being male ("boy").  However, I think SB is using the term "boy" in that context to simply refer to the thing itself, and not to infer anything about its gender.  I suggest it be reworded so as not to imply that he meant the Lappy was male.

-
:The term "brother" is indisputably male. 05:15, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

After the Lappy's recent death, I have just noticed something. The Lappy has NEVER had an E-Mail Deleted on the actual website. The only time Strong Bad has deleted something on the Lappy were on the DVD and in SBCG4AP. Should this be mentioned in the article? VmKid 00:38, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

To my knowledge those things at the bottom are shortcuts, and what you type is in the blue box. But Strong Bad never used them (in email thunder for example he typed send but theres a shortcut for send).

Favorite computer
It is mentioned in the article that the Lappy is Strong Bad's favorite computer, but I believe it is the Compy 386. My reasons are he resorted to blowing up the Lappy, but was hysterically distraught after Bubs shot the Compy. What do you guys think? If true, this page should be altered and it should be noted on the Compy 386 page. I think Strong Bad's selling of the Lappy's many features was just part of his dramatic introduction. 14:46, 6 April 2013 (UTC)

-
:I think that unless Strong Bad specifically states that one of his computers is his favorite, any mention of such would be speculation and therefore should be deleted. I have rewritten the sentence in question. 15:41, 6 April 2013 (UTC)
