I've figured out that what Homestar turns into at the very end depends on what "essence" you get from Strong Bad, Strong Mad, and The Cheat. "Essence of Doo-Doo Meringue" results in Tofu Homestar, "Essence of Strong Mad's Finger Dipped in a Glass of Warm Water" (or however it went) gives you a Marzipan with really bad teeth and a weird voice, and "Essence of Gullibility" leads to classy French Homestar. Someone might want to double check this just to make sure, though -- I only went through it 4 times.

== Transformations theory... ==

As someone who's done a little basic programming, I know one of the EASIEST ways TBC might have made this system work.  Each option you select has a value attached to it, either 1, 2, or 3.  When you select it, it gets added to a total value, at the end, your total value decides the transformation.  This means that each set of choices probably has one 1-point option, one 2-point option, and one 3-point option.  This is supported by the fact that some of the encounters seem to have a "best" choice, such as doing a dance for Bubs or getting the Ghost Water (outlined in the ingredients) from Coach Z. I just watched the toon for the first time earlier today, and the Tofu Homestar ending is different than what is listed in the transcript. In the version I saw, the top block of Tofu actually does fall off, and it lands in the cauldron with a splash. This cuases Homestar to transform to his usual look, and Marzipan says once again that Homestar is back to his usual self, this time in a disappointed-sounding tone. Homestar then proceeds to tell Marzipan that her costume makes her butt look big.

But how does that make it not a goof? Obviously, TBC went out of their way to remove the ability to highlight all of the other characters, so Homsar's highlight does seem rather Goof-ish to me. ::: It has to do with how the Flash file is set up. Whenever you're able to highlight the characters, you're looking at a particular frame. When you click on one of them, it moves to a different spot in the file and plays the appropriate mini-scene. You can't click on the characters because there are no buttons in these frames. When the mini-scene is done, it goes back to the costumes frame. To insert Homsar into the scene, they just created a sprite with him in it and overlayed it at the end. The sprite is the same whether you're looking at the costumes frame or one of the mini-scenes, which is why it behaves the same way in both instances (just like Homestar's eyes blink even when the file is paused). If they ''really'' wanted to, they could have done any number of workarounds to this, but, being on a deadline, you can hardly fault them for doing it the easiest way. &mdash; [[User:It's dot com|It's dot com]] 22:32, 1 November 2005 (UTC)

 I've figured out that what Homestar turns into at the very end depends on what "essence" you get from Strong Bad, Strong Mad, and The Cheat. "Essence of Doo-Doo Meringue" results in Tofu Homestar, "Essence of Strong Mad's Finger Dipped in a Glass of Warm Water" (or however it went) gives you a Marzipan with really bad teeth and a weird voice, and "Essence of Gullibility" leads to classy French Homestar. Someone might want to double check this just to make sure, though -- I only went through it 4 times.

I didn't want to start a reverting war, so I'm starting this discussion to get others opinions.
-My opinion is this: It's fine that these objects have their own articles, but do we really need to say "Ooh! theres that KFC bucket again!" every time it appears? As time goes on, I'm sure many objects in the HR universe will have their own articles, and adding each and every one as an Inside Reference will be a lot. These facts just add clutter to the article without adding anything interesting. If anyone is interested in the KFC bucket it has its own article for that reason. <br>   Furthermore, I don't really see these as "inside references." Usually an inside reference makes some sort of explicit connection to a previous toon. There is no real connection between the broken TVs in this toon and the ones in previous toons. They're just generic broken TVs. I don't think TBC were saying "you know what will blow our viewers' minds away? if we use the SAME broken tv as in that other toon! it'll be hilarious!" -:I tend to agree that reused objects and sounds don't make good fun facts, but some people tend to like these facts, but only sometimes. It escapes me what the difference is between the type that people like and the type people find boring because frankly, i find them all boring, and agree that it's all basically clutter. -::: Yea I was thinking of that as a potential reason for keeping a mention of them somewhere in the article... -::::I can see that working sometimes, but rarely. After a while, repeated linking in the transcript starts to look really ugly. Linking in dialogue is actually prohibited, though that probably won't apply to this sort situation. Linking elsewhere can be OK sparingly. -Okay, I was listening to the toon while on Wikipedia at the same time. I loaded a fairly big page and that caused the toon to hiccup as Homestar presented the stirring utensil to Marizpan. (Jurassic Park 3 Collector spoon when suddenly he gave her a chewed up pen instead.)
-To avoid being confusing here is what I selected and here's what the computer did with the hiccup.
-*Me: 3 + 1 + 3 + 1 + 3 = Cycloptic Homestar
-*Computer: 3 + 1 + 3 + <b>2</b> + 3 = French Homestar
-The odd result was, that it DID come out as Cyclopic Homestar, but after the toon ended and it went to the characters, the audio for French Homestar began playing.

-:My guess is it's trying to follow the precedent of the transcript for [[The House That Gave Sucky Treats]] which is a similar type of driven-by-choices toon. I think it makes more sense there than here since the Homsar secret in Sucky Treats is activated by a hidden fourth choice in a toon where all the other segments give only three choices, and the Homsar segment itself also gives three choices, whereas here it's activated by the standard "click on something when the Poopsmith is around" type of Easter egg and the Homsar segment doesn't have anything interactable. {{User:DEIDATVM/sig}} 06:33, 19 December 2019 (UTC)
