Popular musician David Bowie has been referenced numerous times in the Homestar Runner body of work.
Appearances
- New Boots — The Cheat's boots are a reference to Bowie's song, "The Man Who Sold The World". On the inside liner cover of the similarly titled record album, there is a picture of a cowboy holding a shotgun, with a pair of boots with dollar signs emblazoned on the sides of them that look almost exactly like the boots The Cheat is wearing in the toon.
- Thy Dungeonman II — If you type "look david bowie" in the magistrate's office, the game replies: "There's something about that man... The picture was taken during the Tin Machine era. Thou art more of a Ziggy Stardust fan."
- Halloween Fairstival — Strong Sad dresses as David Bowie as he appears on the cover of his album Aladdin Sane.
- Baddest of the Bands — Bubs refers to Coach Z as the "Thin Green Duke", a reference to David Bowie's persona, "The Thin White Duke".
- @StrongBadActual — On January 11, 2016, the day after Bowie's death, Strong Bad posted, "I'll never be able to call Strong Sad 'The Thick White Dump' again without shedding a little tear," with an attached picture of Strong Sad dressed as him, from Halloween Fairstival.
