I can't see the file on my Lappy. It just shows a big box that says:
Error creating thumbnail: convert: CorruptImage `/home/hrwiki/public_html/w/images/c/c4/TwitterBigMouthBadVsFanglyFish.gif' @ error/gif.c/ReadGIFImage/1333. convert: MissingAnImageFilename `/home/hrwiki/public_html/w/images/thumb/c/c4/TwitterBigMouthBadVsFanglyFish.gif/800px-TwitterBigMouthBadVsFanglyFish.gif' @ error/convert.c/ConvertImageCommand/3011.
I don't know how to download the gif, so whaddawedo? Gfdgsgxgzgdrc 21:45, 19 August 2016 (UTC)
- Do you mean the full-size gif or just the thumbnail? I can see the full-size one just fine on the File page. The thumbnail seems to have a problem though. -- ■■ PURPLE WRENCH ■■ 01:12, 20 August 2016 (UTC)
- File is also corrupted for me. -

- Yes, the full-size one is also corrupted for me.

- So I just tried re-saving it with Gimp and re-uploading it, and that doesn't seem to have helped. I have three ideas of what could be wrong here:
- The output file / conversion process is corrupted, but I can somehow read it because I'm running Linux.
- The server is using ImageMagick incorrectly (we already know that's the case, but it could be doing something extra-wrong here.
- The file is valid, but something is different about it compared to the previous gifs. I can't figure out what that could be.
- In the meantime, since you asked, here's
a zip file of the gif[Update: removed broken link - 01:20, 28 August 2021 (UTC)] so we can figure out if it's corrupted. (You may have to click once to confirm downloading the attachment.) -- ■■ PURPLE WRENCH ■■ 05:39, 20 August 2016 (UTC)- ...Okay, I know it's only been five minutes, but I think I figured it out. I uploaded a new version and now the thumbnail error just says "resource temporarily unavailable", which is what normally happens before the server makes a thumbnail. Let me know if you can see it now.
- With some of the gifs TBC have made lately, they just happen to neatly use only six levels of brightness for all three channels (especially the "my head as penguin" gifs). So to reduce mp4 artifacts I've just been posterizing the frames to six levels, which results in no more than 216 colors while also looking almost identical to the originals. I think what went wrong here is that I tried to posterize the frames as the gif was being created, instead of beforehand. Still not sure why that would cause such odd behavior though. -- ■■ PURPLE WRENCH ■■ 05:56, 20 August 2016 (UTC)
