Calligraphy is one of Strong Sad's favorite hobbies. Not suprisingly, there are many references to his remarkable penmanship.

- Yearbook Character Page — Strong Sad's autograph clearly shows his superb penmanship, displaying this character trait.
- Email impression — Contestants of the Strong Sad Lookalike Contest are judged on their appearance, impression, and penmanship. Strong Bad wins the blue ribbon for penmanship, writing "Strong Sad's Fancy Handwriting" in curly-cued letters.
