Sorry I don't know proper wiki syntax here, but seeing this thread: http://forum.hrwiki.org/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=37733 made me remember that lots of articles have a "view forum thread re: this toon". I'd say this thread qualifies. --Forum user, strongio bros. 3 // edited as anonymous -- April 2, 2014, 12:49 AM @ GMT -6

On it, thanks for pointing it out! Next time, be bold and add it yourself! --Mario2.PNG Super Martyo boing! 06:03, 2 April 2014 (UTC)

Length

Could someone who has more accurate equipment than I do put the length of the toon on the page? Thanks! Stev0 18:57, 2 April 2014 (UTC)

Desktop Themes Fun Facts

What would you juys say to just putting all Fun Facts related to the Desktop Themes (including the sounds, but not including the visuals during them) on the Homestar Runner Desktop Theme and Strong Bad Desktop Theme pages? I still feel like that fact about the origin of Homestar's song is a bit redundant - maybe moreso - and I'm not too keen on duplicating the "Windows startup sound" fact here either. --Jay (Gobble) 07:10, 4 April 2014 (UTC)

Subtitles

Because this toon is featured on the index page right now, the subtitles linked to it on the wiki are actually the subtitles for the normal index page. Will it be possible to distinguish between Index and April Fools' 2014 by the Flash file itself, so that Debra Simone the Internet can contribute some English (and then other-language) subtitles? --   PURPLE  SHARD * 09:27, 8 April 2014 (UTC)

I recently added the work in progress subtitle using the toon's SWF file and it works! I'm now currently making the English subtitles for it, so expect that soon! --Anthonyjk 00:41, 10 April 2014 (UTC)
Still, the page is named index. That means if the Brothers Chaps move the SWF file you'll probably have to rename the page. Plus the other subtitles for index are still linked to the April Fools' page. I just have a feeling that the wiki wasn't designed to handle such a scenario (the index page being replaced with a toon for more than one day). --   PURPLE  SHARD * 02:42, 10 April 2014 (UTC)

homestars eyes

in this toon, the shiny spots on homestars eyes move according to where he is looking. is this normal? if so, this is the first time ive noticed it, but if not, i see three possibilities:

1. it was an intentional style change, or it was done specifically to emphasize parts of the acting in this toon (though it would normally be frowned upon in animation, because the shiny spots on characters are determined by lighting and not by orientation)

2. the chaps could be rusty, having not animated the HR characters in a while

3. someone else animated this toon

thoughts? --162.211.35.226 02:25, 22 April 2014 (UTC)

Yeah, that's normal. The same kinda thing is seen in business trip, where he rolls them. That'sBupkis! 03:30, 22 April 2014 (UTC)
I'll be honest, though. It caught me off guard to see Homestar's eyes being so expressive. At the same time I was also too excited to care about it, because of how unlikely it was that the site updated.
As for the animation style, it's the Chaps all the way. They have mastered the art of doinking and the fans would notice if there was actually a different animator involved. So I guess Homestar mastered the art of poinking, then.
It appears that The Chaps were rusty, though, at least during W00tstock. They (and by "they", I assume just Matt) put the fez on SB's head, but when they went to add Homestar, a small triangle appeared in front of SB's face. But I digress. It's just an emphasis on the acting, Anonny. --   PURPLE  SHARD * 09:27, 22 April 2014 (UTC)
I don't even see this thing that Anonny is talking about happening in this toon. Homestar's eyes do flip horizontally to show his focus - this has always happened - but, as far as this toon is concerned, I don't otherwise see the glare in his eyes doing anything unusual. --Jay (Gobble) 17:59, 22 April 2014 (UTC)
Yeah, you're right, it's just his eyes flipping horizontally. How often did that happen before, though? He usually just turns his body around to indicate his focus. It just feels really off-model when he turns to the audience asking if they want to see the "Two Great Guys". His eyes aren't usually flipped like that, as far as I remember. Plus, when Strong Bad says "Hit it, Homestar!", Homestar's eyes are flipped and displaced slightly. Again, it just seems really... wrong.
...Also, didn't realize this before, when he closes his mouth during "...eeeeenduh!" he has an extra frame of mouth animation between the usual "open and not O-sound" and "closed". It happens at frame 3250.--   PURPLE  SHARD * 18:21, 22 April 2014 (UTC)
