Welcoming
Hi, Michael. If you're interested in welcoming, I suggest you head here to look at how we do it. Note especially that we need to make our welcomes personal and positive, and that this one was not. Thanks. Heimstern Läufer

- Please read the above information. welcoming like this undermines our efforts. — Defender1031*Talk 00:59, 18 September 2008 (UTC)
- I have to bring this up again, because this is completely unacceptable. Where is the help in assuming that a random new user (who hasn't even made any edits yet) doesn't know HTML? It's rude, unhelpful and can easily scare off the newbie. And anyway, we don't require our edits, even the major ones, to have perfect HTML... that's what the gnomes are for, to clean up after editors who add information in good faith, but don't quite get the formatting right (and certainly not to, as you suggest, undo edits that add perfectly good information, merely because of bad HTML). Remember that welcomes are supposed to be personal... and there was nothing personal in that welcome. Please, if you aren't going to take the effort to make a friendly, personal, and above all, welcoming welcome message, then don't welcome at all. --phlip TC 01:42, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
Using Show Preview
Hello MichaelXX2, I see that you have made several consecutive edits to the same page. I want to point out the Show Preview button. It's right next to the Save Page button when you edit. You should use it whenever you are making a lot of experimental edits, for example when you are trying to get formatting right. Using the Show Preview button is quicker and easier than saving and clicking "edit" again, and will keep recent changes and page histories from being flooded. Thanks, — Defender1031*Talk 15:38, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
- Okay, I'll use it, but I thought it was lame at first.
- Ha Ha

- Really, please use Show Preview. All of your edits are just flooding recent changes, which doesn't help anyone.

You still haven't seemed to have gotten the hang of Show Preview, so I'm restoring this topic. It really is a handy tool, I promise.

- I'd like to point out that show preview works for adding userboxes as well. you don't need to save your page after each userbox. — Defender1031*Talk 01:25, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
