Talk:Symbols and Logos
From Homestar Runner Wiki
Name?
Perhaps we could change the name? Maybe "Logos on Shirts"? Sam the Man

how about just "logos" or "signs" or "Flags"(not likely)- I think logos is the best, because some are just that, such as Videlectrix and pistols for pandas
I think Logos would work. Homestar-Winner (talk) 14:33, 23 November 2007 (UTC)

On second thought, maybe something like Medallions would work better. Homestar-Winner (talk) 14:36, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
- but some aren't medals.ex.Videlectrix
The title "insignia" is definitely inappropriate, as these represent symbols of power. After looking at Wikipedia:Logo, the word Logo reflects Commericial use. This applies to probably less than half of the entries in this page. I think the more generic Symbol would be a more appropriate term to describe all entries, but I think renaming the page to Symbols and Logos would be the most fitting (the pages Symbols and Logos can then be redirected here). The page of course, would have to be restructured accordingly. --Stux 19:38, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

This page is getting ridiculous. It's all over the map. These aren't all insignias. And a rename wouldn't help; they aren't all slogans, they aren't all logos, they aren't all on shirts, they aren't all band names. Delete. OptimisticFool 02:19, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
- I like it. If we can find all of the examples of insignias, then I think this would be a good page to have. Though I do agree that we should rename it. Homestar-Winner (talk) 03:51, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
- It's too insignificant to keep. Awexome 04:38, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
- Insignias on Wikipedia say that they are "a token of power or ranking." Homestar's Star, and Coach Z's emblem aren't rankings or medals. I think we should keep this page, but it needs a better name, because they're not really insignias. TheCoolBot

- That's only one definition. Wikipedia's article deals with that only. According to m-w.com, it can also mean "a distinguishing mark or sign" which this page definitely deals with. So keep
and retain name. - Qermaq - (T/C)18:45, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
- On further reflection, perhaps "Identifying Marks" is better. - Qermaq - (T/C)

- As the creator I think that is a great idea — Fusion-homstar (Talk | contribs) 20:21, 23 November 2007 (UTC) (left unsigned)
- Nope. Pointless. Delort!

I'm not sure what i can add at this point other than keep and that i agree with qermaq that we should rename it Identifying marks. --Acam30 16:21, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, Identifying Marks does sound good. Though the next time someone gives an idea, I will probably agree with it also. Homestar-Winner (talk) 22:07, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
- I doubt that someone will search for identifying marks, Though it makes sense to call it that.User:Fusion-homstar/sig 21:15, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
