The Brothers Chaps have made several parodies of and references to Hanna-Barbera animation in various cartoons.

- email theme park — Poppy the Tire looks similar to a 1970s character named Peter Puck.
- email best thing — The Limozeen cartoon is probably a parody of 1970s cartoons that featured bands who fought villains and solved mysteries.
- email highschool — Strong Bad believes they were like most cartoons in high school (i.e. they were a team of super sleuths) is parodying cartoons such as Scooby-Doo.
- The Roman times Easter egg is a parody of an old cartoon series titled The Roman Holidays.
- Teen Girl Squad Issue 8 — A shark becomes Cheerleader's new backup band. This is a reference to Jabberjaw.
