Monkey Island is a popular adventure game series developed by LucasArts, and most recently by Telltale Games with Tales of Monkey Island. The games have been referenced in the Homestar Runner universe, but most references are due to Telltale Games' involvement in Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People and Poker Night at the Inventory.
A character from the Monkey Island series first appeared with Homestar Runner characters when Reginald Van Winslow from Tales of Monkey Island was a suspect in a murder along with Marzipan. The characters were voiced in this toon and had dialog written by fans at the PAX convention. The first time the characters interacted with their official voice actors was in Poker Night at the Inventory when Reginald Van Winslow acted as a host of a poker tournament in which Strong Bad was a participant.
Strong Bad's Relationship with Reginald Van Winslow
Reginald Van Winslow is a cheerful host and is cordial towards all of the participants in the poker tournament. However, Strong Bad shows resentment towards Van Winslow because he feels that just because he's "manager", that shouldn't give him the right to make the rules.
