Monkey Island is a popular adventure game series developed by LucasArts, and most recently by Telltale Games with Tales of Monkey Island. The games have been referenced in the Homestar Runner universe, but most references are due to Telltale Games' involvement in Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People and Poker Night at the Inventory.
A character from the Monkey Island series first appeared with Homestar Runner characters when Reginald Van Winslow from Tales of Monkey Island was a suspect in a murder along with Marzipan. Reginald Van Winslow is a cheerful host and is cordial towards all of the participants in the poker tournament. However, Strong Bad shows resentment towards Van Winslow because he feels that just because he's "manager", that shouldn't give him the right to make the rules.
