Unusual?

It seems to me that this common phrase has never been used in an unusual way. This seems like an example of a mundane thing that occurs because it fits where it happens. — Defender1031*Talk 23:52, 25 February 2009 (UTC)

Looks like another "Awesome" article to me. Delete BBG 23:57, 25 February 2009 (UTC)
It's used more consistently than awesome. I think it's valid. -132.183.138.34 01:02, 26 February 2009 (UTC)
It's used consistently in decidedly ordinary places, where one would expect it to be used. — Defender1031*Talk 01:20, 26 February 2009 (UTC)
There's no rule that we can't document ordinary things. A manner of speech that Strong Bad repeatedly uses is notable imo. -132.183.138.34 01:26, 26 February 2009 (UTC)
Yes there is. — Defender1031*Talk 01:29, 26 February 2009 (UTC)
That's for mundane objects. As one who has complained about that very page, you should see the difference, here. -132.183.138.34 01:31, 26 February 2009 (UTC)
I think that anything that's used in a mundane way doesn't deserve its own page. I don't think that rule is specifically limited to objects. — Defender1031*Talk 01:32, 26 February 2009 (UTC)
If it were my personal decision as supreme overlord of the wiki, I would keep this article solely to keep the reference to the instance in Date Nite. That moment is just that cool.
From a more objective, following-the-wiki-guidelines-type perspective, though, I can't support this article. The use of the phrase is just too mundane and ordinary. It's not a catch phrase like "seriously" or "holy crap". It's not used in unusual contexts, except maybe in Date Nite (even there, the phrase itself is used in an ordinary way; it's just that the normal laws of physics seem suddenly not to apply to Marzi and Strong Bad, causing a moment of utmost humour). I put absolutely zero stock in the spoons page as anything more than an essay, but still, when making articles about words and phrases, I think there ought to be something to make the phrase stand out. I don't see that here. Heimstern Läufer 01:39, 26 February 2009 (UTC)
{ec'd}Well, my point isn't just that it's about objects, but that it's about extremely common ones. The same rule would apply to patterns of speech. We wouldn't have a page about the times Strong Bad says "and" or "I think", but I think the phrase "Get outta my" is uncommon enough to be noted. -132.183.138.34 01:43, 26 February 2009 (UTC)
It's not, though. People say things like "get outta my house" all the time. — Defender1031*Talk
