:::I support this fact. TBC said in interviews that what they like most about doing cartoons on the internet, is that they can change stuff in the last minute. Maybe Marzi used to say something else, and was changed in light of the Chicago thing. {{User:E.L. Cool/sig}} 18:56, 14 August 2006 (UTC) | :::I support this fact. What does "in progress" mean?
Folks, please note the {{inprogress}} template - Thunderbird is already working on the transcript, and rather than have him and everyone run into endless edit conflicts, please respect the template. K? Thanks. There are other sections we can work on. - Qermaq - (T/C) 16:10, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
- Hey, only reason I messed with it was because of some sloppy edit undoing what Thunderbird started. --Jay (Gobble) 16:28, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
- Understood. I'm waiting for the notice to go down to correct the image extension from PNG to png myself. It was right at one point... - Qermaq - (T/C)

- Meh. Whatever. It's not like it was pretty much my only chance to ever do an actual transcription of a visual toon. I'm sure I'll have another chance in another two years of wiking or so. Though it is darn annoying when you spend 10 minutes transcribing a toon, only to find out that one edit prior, somebody else already transcribed the same section, despite the in progress template. Maybe if I hadn't actually bothered to look for the Cardboard Marzipan precident, I would have got my revision out first. Oh well, I guess fastest transcriber wins, or something like that. ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 16:57, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
- Nobody wins when it's a contest in someone's mind. We're here to serve the HRWiki first, our pitiful little egos second, and slipshod work that has to be rewritten is less valuable to this user than a careful edit which lasts, all other things being equal. - Qermaq - (T/C)

- Agreed, but I think there's some merit to combining the best elements of two edits as well if there are important differences between them. -Unknownwarrior33 20:28, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

Feeding ducks through a tube
This is probably a reference to force-feeding geese in order to harvest their livers for foie gras. This has come under attack by animal rights activists recently.
- Yup, see No Hands On Deck!#Explanations. Thanks. -- Tom 17:51, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
Added to main page?
lol the toon came out the morning but its not on any of the main pages but it iz in the toons menu
iz this the 1st thime that's happened? Rabb-Talk!
But will it play in Chicago?
I question the relevance of the mention of Chicago's ban on foie gras. One, this toon is not made near Chicago; while it's a story on the news all over, it's not directly relevant to Atlanta. Two, they started this days ago, and the comment fits neatly into Marzipan's character even if there was no Chicago news today. - Qermaq - (T/C) 18:39, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
- I didn't include that bit when I first wrote the fact because I didn't know about it. Heck, I didn't even know about foie gras until I did some research on tubes and ducks. When I saw the bit about the Chicago ban was added then removed and then re-added, I beefed it up a teesy bit, but I can probably take it or leave it. What do others think? -- Tom 18:50, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
- Just to clarify - the tube bit is clearly a reference to foie gras and the controversy. It's just the specific tie-in to today's news from Chicago that seems a stretch. - Qermaq - (T/C)

I'm not Rapaport
I swear, they do this because we debate this stuff. Remember the "Mr. Chechov" controversy? Well, here we are again.
Now that we have an egg showing the spelling of "Rappaport", is it a reference to Michael Rapaport at all, or just the play? - Qermaq - (T/C) 19:41, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
Prescription
Strong Sad could have been talking about a contact lens prescription.
- No, He meant his medication. He thought that he was just seeing this (not with his eyes, that is). Also, you don't wear contacts in bed. Loafing
