Sometimes in the Homestar Runner universe, nouns will be given names that are overdescriptive

- Email car— Homestar describes that when you spin his buzzer, it "plays the theme from Night Court starring Richard Moll".
- Experimental Film (commentary) — At the part with the portrait with the "Our gracious host" caption, Strong Bad is heard remarking, "More like 'Our I'll-murder-you-in-a-back-alley host'."
- Email theme song — Strong Bad mentions that his email show would include a "life-affirming pop-ballad type theme song".
- Teen Girl Squad Issue 12 — The Ugly One exclaims, "Ow! My the-fact-that-I-was-alive-a-second-ago!"
- Toikey TV — Strong Bad, Strong Mad, and The Cheat are watching the 2007 Falling Asleep On The Couch Watching Football Bowl.
- Email pet show — The King of Town's pet is an "As Seen on TV Low-Fat Cooking Device".
