| + | Personally I don't really see the resemblance to a {{wp|shamisen}}, it just looks a like a stylized guitar to me. {{prs|1387158850109943809|27|Apr|2021|alt=The earlier Twitter sketches}} all pretty clearly show a guitar. I think you have the debut correct since the email was from earlier in 2003 than the character video...Although I almost reverted your edit right away with the notion of , "it can't be, no way that email predates the video", but it seems that you are correct.

20X6 Shamisen?
Personally I don't really see the resemblance to a shamisen, it just looks a like a stylized guitar to me. The earlier Twitter sketches all pretty clearly show a guitar. The final design has a sound hole (like a guitar, unlike a shamisen). -- Bleu Ninja
