1987 is a year that is often referred to in the Homestar Runner body of work. Its significance to The Brothers Chaps is unknown, however two events have been mentioned by them as taking place. In the DVD commentary for monster truck it was revealed that in 1987 The Brothers Chaps' brother Donnie dressed as Vince Neil of Mötley Crüe for Halloween, and Matt Chapman dressed as Evel Knievel. At Flashforward 2006 Seattle, Mike mentioned that Matt is an award winning stop motion claymation animator, from a 1987 media festival in 7th grade.
