Homestar Runner and Marzipan, although officially dating, have a rather tenuous relationship, as has been evidenced several times. Homestar frequently insults Marzipan (although he may not realize that he is doing so), and Marzipan occasionally treats Homestar with contempt. Occasionally, they even break up or mention breaking up. But they always end up together again.

Homestar offending Marzipan
- Homestarloween Party: Homestar chooses to stand next to Bubs instead of Marzipan and has her stand next to Strong Bad.
- The Luau: Homestar skips out on Marzipan's luau, telling Strong Bad that it was terrible.
- The Best Decemberween Ever: Homestar says Marzipan's gift ideas are terrible and that he doesn't even want to see what she got him.

- Halloween Potion-ma-jig: In the Tofu Homestar ending, Homestar tells Marzipan, "That costume makes your butt look big."
