Heavy metal band Metallica, famous for popularizing the thrash metal subgenre, has been referenced several times in the Homestar Runner universe.
[edit] Appearances
- Halloween Fairstival — The sign in Pom Pom's scene is a possible reference to the song "Creeping Death".
- Email slumber party (DVD commentary) — During the scene with the party food to be served, Matt Chapman recalls a childhood slumber party where one kid was eating a lot of Skittles and headbanging to the album ...And Justice for All, potentially the songs "One" or "The Unforgiven" (which is actually on a different album). Mike remarks that Metallica drummer and co-founder Lars Ulrich would probably approve of the intense headbanging.
- Later That Night... — Homestar misidentifies Bubs's costume as "American Hot Sauce Businessman Metallica".
