Some article titles cannot be named correctly due to software limitations.

Before the opening paragraph of the article, insert {{Template:wrongtitle|title=correct title}}. This will produce the following text:

The title given to this article is incorrect due to technical limitations. The correct title is correct title.

For a list of articles that are subject to these limitations, see Special:Whatlinkshere/Template:wrongtitle.

Excluded characters

The following characters are not allowed in page titles:

# + < > [ ] | { }

The following character is allowed but is impossible to link to from a namespace that supports subpages if it is the first character of the title:

/

The MediaWiki software also makes no distinction between underscores and spaces in page titles, so underscores will display as spaces. For example the article on the Strong Bad Email DVD, named "strongbad_email.exe" is currently at "strongbad email.exe".

Lowercase first letter

Unlike Wikipedia, the Homestar Runner Wiki is set to accept a lowercase character as the first letter of a page title.
