The Rudely Thrown Bust of Martin Van Buren

Martin Van Buren was the eighth President of the United States (1837-1841), and has appeared several times on Homestar Runner. It isn't yet known whether The Cheat and Strong Bad idolize him or if they have something against him.

This inside joke is likely derivative of the Seinfeld TV comedy series, in which a fictional street gang was named "The Van Buren Boys," because (supposedly) Van Buren was "the meanest" president. Outside of the realm of fiction, Martin Van Buren is not known to be particularly mean; however, this is likely the reason why a mean fellow such as Strong Bad would associate with him.
