If you want, you can add your own sound! This could come in handy if you want to do your own Quote of the week! Here is how to make the file compatible. You will need iTunes (7.4.2 was the version used for this tutorial). And, optionally, a recording program, such as Windows Sound Recorder or QuickTime Pro (player version 7.2 was used in this tutorial) and a mic, if you wish to record your own voice.

Here is the simple part, have your mic hooked up, and start recording using Windows Sound Recorder or QuickTime Pro. To record in QuickTime Pro, go to File > New Audio Recording. Just record what you want, and save.

The Brothers Chaps encode their QOTs with 64kbps (kilobytes per second) MP3 encoding. You will need to use iTunes to export the audio into that MP3 encoding so it will work. Go into iTunes > Preferences... on a Mac, or Edit  > Preferences.. on a PC. Now click on the "Advanced" tab, then click the "Importing" tab. Under the "Import Using:" pop-up menu, choose MP3 Encoder, then under the "Setting" pop-up menu, choose custom. Another window should pop up. Under that window's "Stereo Bit Rate" pop-up menu, choose 64kbps. Leave everything else alone <!--I haven't tried with VBR enabled yet.--> but you may check the  "Smart Encoding Adjustments" and/or the "Filter Frequencies Below 10Hz" check box. The "Filter Frequencies Below 10Hz" check box will make it a little more animal friendly if you have pets. Then click OK, and click OK in the preferences window. Select the imported song, and go to Advanced > Convert Selection to MP3 (It may say AAC or AIFF, depending if you haven't changed the Import encoding), and wait for it to complete. This can take awhile if your audio file is long in length. When done, select the imported song. If you are not sure which on is which, under the search bar, type in "MPEG audio file" and select the exported song. Then go to Edit > Copy. In Windows Explorer or Finder, go into the weeklies folder within the weeklies folder, and paste. Then open the weeklies.xml file and instead of "None" insert the name of the MP3 file, that you just pasted into your folder. Then when you click on the "hear it!" button, you'll get sound.
