: Be that as it may, that's actually the exact reason we insist that you log in before editing your userpage - IP addresses are not necessarily static, and the one you use, even long-term, could wind up in someone else's hands at some point. Be that as it may, that's actually the exact reason we insist that you log in before editing your userpage - IP addresses are not necessarily static, and the one you use, even long-term, could wind up in someone else's hands at some point. The only way to prove it's you is to log in using your password.
