Homestar's pants/leg

When I first watched this, I'm certain I heard "Hitchin' a ride on Homestar's pants". When I listen now, it's obviously "leg". Did anyone else have the same experience? Did they pull a fast one? Are there two versions? Am I just crazy? — It's dot com 03:24, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

It would "bust" the proverbial "rhyme" if it were true. Bombcar 04:09, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
Neither one is a good rhyme. The song is inconsistent. "Fire" and "choir" rhyme, but other similar instances don't ("leg"/"pants" and "job"; "gymnasium" and "do"). — It's dot com 04:50, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
Well, I just don't think that it's a rhyming song. I sounds better without the rhymes in my opinion. Thy Not Dennis (t/c) 15:19, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
It's definitely a rhyming song, it just doesn't consistently rhyme on the off lines. I never heard any version with "pants", but it was pretty clear after coming here that I'd missed the 'toon's release by several hours. --Jay (Talk) 16:55, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
Well, according to the Last-Modified dates, the SWF was updated about 50 minutes after the toon's release – the HTML page was last modified 1:55:34 UTC, the wiki article was created 2:18 UTC (so the toon was definitely released already), then the SWF was updated at 2:45:42 UTC. Whether it really said "pants" in those first 50 minutes isn't something we can confirm unless someone happened to save a copy of that first version. But if anyone else can confirm they heard "pants" first time around, I'm comfortable with adding it to Trivia. --phlip TC 21:40, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
I dunno, I watched it almost immediately after the page was created (how "almost" I unfortunately can't confirm, although I'm pretty sure it was less than 27 minutes..) and I definitely heard leg. -128.103.10.135 22:00, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, I made the forum article before the wiki article was even created and have the "leg" line as one of the options. So either the wiki article was created after the update, or it wasn't changed. Monkeytender 23:42, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

Strong Sad

The page shows Strong Sad as one of the characters, but I didn't see him and he's not referenced. Am I missing something? Bombcar 03:55, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

You can see his foot sticking out from under the pile of burning mattresses. --DorianGray 03:56, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
Ah, I see it. Perhaps a description of the mattress fire could be added. Bombcar 03:57, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
Does anyone else think its a good idea to make this another case of Strong Sad's Death? His corpse is popping up everywhere! --lustmyeyes <3 07:22, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
His leg is still twitching, so it's not quite death. --DorianGray 09:45, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

Strong Mad Uses Good Grammar?

Looks like ol' Graw Mad is using complete sentences now. If my math is right, he did it twice in this toon. That's probably a new record! :68.32.116.46 04:07, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

Possibly, but this is hardly the first time he's used a complete sentence, and hardly the place for discussing this either. --DorianGray 04:10, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
He's actually used a complete sentence before, as in Ever and More! - I CAN LET OUT THE WAIST A LITTLE BIT FOR YOU! (11 words, 12 syllables). And yes, this discussion should go to the forum.--Charlie Jr. 17:00, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

Marzipan's Choir

I think she says, "No, that's a C" Bombcar 04:08, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

Last Line

If you turn it up high enough it's pretty clear the singer says "The day is done (or gone) so won't you close that barbecue...lid." Not "once you". —Einstein runner (thorax.pngfile_icon.gifmail_icon.gif) 04:23, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

New Evolution

I think The Cheat's appearence has changed, do you? User:MICGAGUH

I noticed a little, but wait until the next toon. If it's still like it is now, new evolution. If it goes back to what it was before, mark it on this page under Remarks. Thy Not Dennis (t/c) 15:21, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
Uh, The Cheat's a male. User:MICGAGUH
I know. What does that have anything to do with what I just said? Thy Not Dennis (t/c) 19:55, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
He wasn't referring to The Cheat by saying "it". He was talking about the Cheat's Evolution 72.14.73.85 11:43, 21 April 2009 (UTC)

Uh, guys...

Lowercase I on the loading screen. SI.com!

I added it to this page and the Lowercase i's page. Thy Not Dennis (t/c) 15:55, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

Audio Quality and Sofa

Anyone think the audio in this cartoon is lower quality than usual? Also, the sofa Strong Bad and Strong Mad are sitting on is larger in the end scene than the beginning scene. 128.172.204.174 23:10, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

Bubs' Stand

Should this location be added to the locations in the toon? I mean, it only appeared in PbtC form, but that didn't stop Bubs and Coach Z from making it to the Characters list. Monkeytender 23:42, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

who was blown away?

This is the best toon/short/anything by tbc of 2009! who else was awesomified? OpenSourceGreg 00:55, 21 April 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, the forum would probably be a better place to discuss this. Talk Pages are more about talking about the article itself. Monkeytender 01:11, 21 April 2009 (UTC)

Ok, thanks OpenSourceGreg 05:16, 21 April 2009 (UTC)

Important Things?

The "ATM Machine" (complete with "That's kind of redundant") was a joke on Important Things with Dimetri Martin a few weeks back. Might it be a reference?

Unlikely, it's a pretty common thing to joke about. There's even a pseudo-syndrome about it that's linked to in explanations. i think that's enough. — Defender1031*Talk 02:32, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
Plus they've had RAS Syndromes before. A few more and we've got a running gag! I think it has a good chance, Strong Mad even lampshaded it here. Thy Not Dennis (t/c) 09:48, 21 April 2009 (UTC)

Further Redundance

The "2" at the end of the song is completely useless and an example of today's bad grammar. It could be considered redundant, further deepening the "ATM Machine" joke at the end.

That grates on me as much as "Where's it at".

"Little Birdie" song? Really?

So, one of the real world references say the song is "strongly reminiscent" of "Little Birdie" from the Peanuts special A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving. I see absolutely no resemblance at all since the songs are totally different style and have very different sound. I'd think this song reminds me more of the Sweaty R&B song. Can anybody shed some light on the "strong resemblance" or should this be removed? (the song is at 7:07 of this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=51F0L_LVXBE and begining of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZFFF4tSXd0 -- Del Taco? 13:06, 21 April 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, I thought that sounded a little odd, but I couldn't find a video... now that I've seen it, I agree, I don't really see the resemblance... --phlip TC 13:12, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
