*Could Coach Z talking on an unplugged phone be a refrence to the film The Waterboy?  There's a scene in which Coach Klein (Henry Winkler) talks to "grandma" on a phone and as the camera pans down, it is revealed that the phone reciever is unplugged.. and he's wearing high heels.
