The name Sterrance is also used in Mickey Zucker Reichert's [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mickey_Zucker_Reichert] The Last of the Renshai series, in reference to the king of Bearn.  It is unlikely that there is any relation between the two characters.

Cute Ol' Sterrance

In the Strong Bad Email "animal," Strong Bad settles on Sterrance as what he would look like if he were his own made up animal. This is only decided after a series of other failures (documented in Made Up Strong Bad Animals). Sterrance kind of looks like a "doodle" from Disney's online MMORPG "Toontown." He has Strong Bad's face-mask-shaped-thing, a yellow dangly tongue, wings, and a generally happy-go-lucky personality.

Strong Bad thinks that Sterrance is way cuter than his old washed-up The Cheat, and this insult starts a fight between the two of them.

Sweet indeed.
