Hall of Fame thrash metal band Metallica has been referenced several times in the Homestar Runner universe. Strong Bad in particular likes them, being a fan of metal music.
Appearances
- Halloween Fairstival — The sign in Pom Pom's scene is a possible reference to the song, "Creeping Death", from the album Ride the Lightning.
- Email slumber party (DVD commentary) — During the scene with the party food to be served, Matt recalls about how one kid was eating a lot of Skittles and headbanging to ...And Justice for All, which is an album by Metallica, which includes the song "One", also mentioned. The brothers also refer to Lars Ulrich, the founding band member, and to the song, "The Unforgiven".
- Trudgemank — The loading screen reads "Load", which may be a reference to the Metallica album of the same name.
- Later That Night... — Homestar confuses Bubs's costume for a Metallica character.
