Instead of being a duplicate character, Shadow Homestar Runner is instead a malevolent enemy(?) of Homestar's. "He" has introduced Homestar's Hremails several times, with Homestar thanking him. One would think that he is just Homestar confusing himself, but he was seen as a completely different character in Hremail 2000, where he fights (and severly pummels) Homestar. He is, according to Homestar, himself dipped in a vat of ink.
