Marvel is a comic book company founded by Martin Goodman in 1939. They were known for publishing comic books based on Crime, horror, mystery, romance, science fiction, war, and Western. Most notably, they publish such superhero comic books as X-Men, Spider-Man, The Fantastic Four, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Iron Man, and Captain America. During the 1960s, the so-called "Marvel Age of Comics", Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, and Steve Ditko were the main people for making a lot of the popular superhero comics. Today, Marvel is one the biggest comic book companies, and has had a lot of TV shows and movies based on their creations. The Homestar Runner toons contain some references to their work.
