Caleb Rentpayer is a TV show that Strong Bad loves. It was first overheard in the Strong Bad Email "secret recipes," as it was being watched by The King of Town, but had a more prominent role in Bug in Mouth Disease. It features the trials and tribulations of Caleb, a renegade who somehow acquires a lot of money, and his butler, Tucksworth. Caleb is normally very mean to Tucksworth. A typical episode would follow these dialogue formats:
- TUCKSWORTH: Caleb, did you [action]?
- CALEB: I sure did.
- TUCKSWORTH: Caleb, that [item] was mine!
- CALEB: It's mine now!
- TUCKSWORTH: Caleb, are you [action]?
- CALEB: I am now!
- TUCKSWORTH: Caleb, you can't [action]!
- CALEB: I can try!
- CALEB: You [action] like a [noun], Tucksworth.
- TUCKSWORTH: Caleb, the [item] was [whiny adjective].
In a whodunit cliffhanger for which Strong Bad duct taped his head to the TV, it was revealed that Homestar Runner had shot Caleb, a parody of the famous Dallas episode "Who Shot J.R.?"
The show is likely a parody of soap operas, which often have befuddled dialogues and odd musical scores to go along with it.
