Your name

Hi there. I couldn't help but notice your username is very much like one of the main characters of the official site. In fact, it's exactly like one of the characters. I've noticed that sysops/admins have generally asked users to not use official character names here, though I couldn't find a specific page that stated this policy (or the policy was rescinded and I'm talking out my twees). In any event, you might want to request a new username over here: HRWiki:Changing username. I know what you're talking about, KieferSkunk. The log in/sign up page says: "Avoid choosing a username that is identical to the name of a Homestar Runner character, toon, place, etc."

I see why they might want me to avoid this. But is it an actual rule? I don't want to break any rules... but if it is just a suggestion, I am fine with my username and would rather not complicate things. Meh Meh! 23:21, 30 April 2006 (UTC)

I know it's a rule on the forums, "Your name cannot be one of the main characters. It becomes too confusing." – I'm not certain it's a rule on the wiki, but it probably is. Probably best to be on the safe side and ask for it to be changed. --phlip ^T_C 23:54, 30 April 2006 (UTC)

It is a rule. Lesser characters are okay, but the main 12 are off limits for several reasons. Confusion being one, and everybody wanting to be Strong Bad or Homestar being another.  ;) ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 23:59, 30 April 2006 (UTC)

Okay guys... thanks for your comments. Sorry for not replying sooner, but I have been kinda busy with stuff and haven't been on in a while. On the same note, I have realized that even if someone were to have this username, it should probably be someone with a little more contributions than me, since I honestly don't do very much here. Your sig

I happened to notice that your sig is "Meh! Meh!" but it is policy that your sig contain your username or an shortened version of it (i.e. Thunderbird L17=Thunderbird, It's dot com=Dot com, ect.)
