- I tried that diff a few days ago. Someone went on my user page and LINK'D!! a whole bunch of contributions on that page before I found out about the whole request process. —

No matter how much you try to make your computer screen a piece of paper, all that white will strain your eyes. It's light! It's going to do that! Light text on a dark background will cut down the light and conserve your eyes. Hence, this heavy formatting.
