"Wood-davers" are the arts-and-crafts project proposed by Strong Sad, in the email caffeine. He mentions them again in boring (really).

Based on Strong Sad's description, a wood-daver is similar to the peanut-butter-and-birdseed-covered pinecone birdfeeders commonly made by Girl/Boy Scouts.
