Hope this isn't an inappropriate place to post this...

Hey, I've been a happy user of hrwiki.org for a long time (even if I haven't posted in the forums here before), but recently I decided to set up my own MediaWiki wiki, and...well, I have a question I'm hoping someone here can help with. I was trying to figure out how to have page titles starting with lower-case letters (without breaking links due to case sensitivity issues), and I realized that here on hrwiki.org you managed to do just that. After a little digging around, I found this page that describes what you did, but still doesn't explain how you did it.

So, I guess my question is, if you don't mind sharing...how did you do it? Did you find the code and instructions somewhere, or did you come up with the Autopipe/Autoredirect method yourself? If the former, where? And if the latter, um, would you mind sharing it? (I'll mention on my wiki that I got the code from here, FWIW.)

Hope I'm not being too much of a bother, but I'd really like to know how to do this. I've just spent hours figuring out (successfully) how to have page titles with ampersands in them in my wiki, and how to implement some of Wikipedia's templates, but this has got me stumped...

There's a good chance that I don't know what I'm talking about, but the wiki only started being able to do that when it was upgraded to MediaWiki 1.9, so I think that has something to do with it.

Thanks anyway, but there's more to it than that; I'm running MediaWiki 1.10.1. There's some customization done on hrwiki.org to accomplish the autopipe/autodirect stuff, and I don't know how it's done...

No, I'd already found that, but that's something entirely different that just happens to have a similar name. Doesn't do what I need at all.

Anyway, though, after reading the Talk page about Autopipe/Autodirect (which I should have done in the first place), I found it was a custom extension written by It's Dot Com, so I've now asked about it on his User Talk page...
