True, true. And it's a good thing they don't smell like hotcakes, either. Then the site would be centered on the emails only.
I'd love to see more toons in the site soon-- heck, I'd even root some s'more T33n G1rl Squ4d. "Shopping with Danger" was good, but my thirst for some traditional Homestar hasn't been quenched since "Homestar Presents: Presents".

I think they're doing fine the way they're going. If you think about it, the emails don't really overpower the other stuff as much. SBEmail #100 came out nearly a year ago now (March 16, 2004), and we're on #125 now, so that's only about half of the updates being taken up by emails. And we've had a lot of other great stuff taking up the other half. 2 main toons, 3 Teen Girl Squads, all the Peasant's Quest stuff, all the Cheat Commandos stuff, and a bunch of short toons and puppet stuff.

I can see the appeal of making a Sbemail rather than a toon, to make a toon, the WHOLE piece has to be thought out, with Sbemails, the base is already there, in the email itself, and it's development from that which makes the toon, like a trigger.

I'm accusing them of being lazy at all, because let's face it, they don't owe us ****. :bubs:

I wish though, maybe one week, they wouldn't do a email, but would make a toon. When you say toons in the main menu, it seems like the main thing; the thing that should be updated more!

How many toons: 9
How many emails: 126!!!

I say more Homsar! Why doesn't Homsar have his own toon? :homsar: I am one who would like to see a toon without Strong Bad, also.

homsar only works in small, random doses. Having his own cartoon would kill his purpose.

Do you mean Homestar or Homsar?

Because the website is called homestarrunner.com

I for one would like it if every other week was an email, and the rest of the time was something else, like an answering machine or short toon, with big toons coming once every two months or so.

I'd like to see more Teen Girl Squad, too.

As long as there's an update every week, I'm happy.

I think something should happen WITHIN one of the strongbad emails that makes strongbad (at least Temporarily) STOP answering them for awhile before coming back. Just to have a break from the emails.

Then eventually he could come back. Or, who knows.

But if they're gonna make it every 2 weeks or something instead of every week... I'd tie a storyline or something in there. Like strongbad is working on some kind of ... "project" that is taking up a lot of his time. Then you could reward everyone with a toon based on this side storyline that was progressing with-in the emails and then return to normal email release.

Meanwhile giving time to release regular toons and other stuff more often and keeping people coming back to see what Strong Bad will do.

Just something to mix it up a 'lil. *shrug*

Burninated, I love your idea. At the end of a email, probably where he gets a game, he gets a terific idea. He puts a sign on Lappy that says "Strongbad is making his project. Sign oning soon." And then for like 2 weeks, we won't get anything and then we'll get 2 things: a toon where he is playing some really cool new RPG that Strongbad collaborated with the cheat and Videoelectrix to make.. I dunno.. And then the game, where you actually play the game. The toon should also show some parts of strongbad making it.

What??? If anything, taking a break from SBemails might make them better. Right now they're not too good. A break might build back their groove.

Or maybe, TBC should keep putting other cartoons on the site, and eventually we will start missing the Strong Bad e-mails, then when that happens, they'll bring them back, and we'll like the Strong Bad e-mails more than ever. Kinda like the New Coke thing.

Maybe another TGS special. Or maybe they could bring out a complete version of 'Tis True, Pom Pom, 'Tis True, or a remake of Marshmallow's Last Stand or A Jumping Jack Contest.

Let's just hope it doesn't flop like New Coke. That does make sense though Shop.

Now that I think about it, I don't really mind if they just keep using email updates. They're funny, and they can be about all different types of things with all the characters. Just because it starts and sometimes ends on a computer doesn't really make it tiresome to me.

The most recent thing on Homestar Runner that takes place in the regular world (not Peasantry or 20X6 or Puppet Time, etc) to not have Strong Bad in it is "anything."

The most recent non-email is "Meet Marshie."

No foolin'

Strong Bad is the most popular character by far. If they don't include him, people might lose interest.

I think they should have more Homestar with the same amount of S to the B.

ya, but I could do with a few "non-bad" weeks. I doubt that SB's popularity is going to go down at all just because of a temp. stop in the stream of emails. It might even freshen the character as we all "witness the whiteness".

Sbemails draw people to the site, but they should slow it down a bit and put up more toons. They seem to be starting to do this now anyway.

Yeah. After the latest SBEmail, we've gotten a new toon, answering machine, and game expansion.

What I really want is a regular toon. A new full-length toon staring the normal cast.

Yeah. I'm glad that there were some non emails updates. I'm thinking that after this week's email, we'll have a toon, or at least a short.

Well Ramrod, I guess you got your wish. A great new toon and a new stinkoman level. I would like it if they gave homestar his own show, not like sb email big, but like marzipan's answering maching or powered by the cheat.

but then again lets face it, sb emails are what attacted most of the people here to homestarrunner.com.

I'd like to see a big 6-minute 20X6 toon.

I mentioned this on another thread, but what I think would be awesome would be like an every-other-week feature where the characters are just sitting around talking. Maybe they could have a different topic each time. You could have like four or five random main Characters (or even some random non-main characters) and really get into the character development. They could have, like, earnest discussions about obscure video games, or food, or something. No plot, just simple character interaction, and a way for someone other than Strong Bad to have a voice.
