I have to ask, seeing as how Bubs and Coach Z are usually seen together and also what happens at the end of "Date Nite", do you think Bubs and Coach Z are homosexual?!?

No. I think that was a joke that played on the premise of the toon itself and the fact that Coach Z and Bubs are always seen together.

Agreed with Rob-Bert. People shouldn't think too much about some things seen in the toons. Otherwise, the speculations start flying around.

Good explanation - or, in other words, the explanation I am currently choosing to believe. I really don't think the Brothers Chaps would want to emplore something as contravertial and disturbing (in this context, I stress) as homosexuality into their Toons. It's creepy, and that isn't the nature of Homestarrunner.com.

Agree'd. Seriously, Coach Z is one of the creepiest characters on the site, so he's BOUND to do crazy yet creepy things, like have a skinny little pink thong, buy all the "Great for Baby" items, saying he's a mom, and other things.

Besides, this is supposed to be a funny site. Coach Z happens to be the poster boy for creepiness here.

I figured it was kind of a throwback to "garage sale," where Coach Z was doing these mom things. The curlers made me think of Mama's Family. So for me it was more like Coach Z pretending to be Bubs's mom.

Okay, I guess the verdict everyone is coming up with is that Coach Z is just plain creepy. Then again, his accent is weird. And the reason I say it's weird is that he admits it in the 2003 Halloween toon, and in the 2005 Thanksgiving toon, Marzipan says that Coach Z speaks his own language (i.e., "Pom Pom Balloon" vs. "Pam Pam B'loon").

So yeah, the coach can be ridiculously weird sometimes.

Well, I don't think we'll get much into Bubs and Coach Z's relationship in any future toons, but the end of Date Nite did seem to imply they were a gay couple, yes. (Although Bubs is apparently bi, sicne he's going on a date with Marzipan, and Coach Z seems to have a fondness for Marzipan, too, when it comes to it. So I guess they're both bi. Toastpaint...)

This explains why Coach Z was buying all the "good for baby" items...

Here's the thing: Gay jokes aren't just exclusive to Bubs and Coach Z - They're also made towards Strong Bad and Homestar Runner i.e. "Do Over" and Strong Mad and The Cheat in "Short Shorts".

Regardless, jokes are jokes. The only canon "couple" is Homestar/Marzipan, and no doubt it will stay that way.
